Attorney reveals how Dorit Kemsley not knowing where money is amid divorce could affect her
She's currently going through divorce from her ex PK
An attorney has revealed how the fact Dorit Kemsley doesn’t know where the marital money is, that she shares with her estranged husband, Paul Kemsley, otherwise known as PK, could seriously affect her. She recently revealed the shocking news on RHOBH.
It was in May 2024 when it was announced that Dorit and PK were splitting. They said they were taking time apart to reevaluate their relationship and prioritise their children, though they were having difficulties for some time, with Dorit filing for divorce in April 2025.

Basically, she explained how PK would handle everything before they got married in 2015. “For the last 14 years, PK’s been paying the lion’s share of our family outgoings,” she said in a confessional. “When we separated, he said the finances would stay the same.”
However, that was short-lived. She said: “A month later, I got an email saying that he decided that he’s no longer going to do that,” she claimed. “And I was like, ‘How can you change this all of a sudden?’ And his answer was, ‘I only agreed to that for one month.'”
Given that she had minimal, if any, direct involvement in the family’s finances up until that point, Dorit quickly realised that she also had no knowledge of basic information, such as whether or not they even had any retirement or other investment accounts.

“I have yet to discover everything,” Dorit admitted to Boz and Amanda. “And I can tell you I’m in the unknown.” According to asset protection and trust attorney Gideon Alper of Alper Law, uncertainty around finances, regardless of fame, can seriously change things.
“When one spouse says they don’t have visibility over assets, accounts or investments, it often signals an imbalance of information rather than wrongdoing,” said Gideon. “In divorce proceedings, courts focus on disclosure and transparency, not speculation.”
They added: “In California, both parties in a divorce are legally required to disclose assets, income, debts and financial interests. A lack of awareness does not remove this obligation — it often leads to deeper financial review during proceedings.”
