Dolores Catania is out here telling the world the Real Housewives of New Orleans are “a dying breed” when it comes to their loyalty. And, we’re not sure what that means for the ladies of Salt Lake City because there doesn’t seem to be any form of girl code going on over there.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are throwing drinks, insults and accusations around on their yacht trip this November like it’s a new sport. But, if there’s one cast member who literally did not come to play, it’s Meredith Marks. She shut down Britani Bateman’s remarks in a flash – and it’s not the first time she’s had to defend her marriage.

When Britani Bateman decided to stir the pot on the cast yacht trip, she picked the wrong Housewife to test.

After Britani floated insinuations about Meredith’s marriage, Meredith didn’t hesitate to shut it all the way down.

She fired back: “My husband does not have a mistress; we are in a monogamous marriage… Because your boyfriend breaks up with you every time he wants to sleep with someone else, that’s your problem, not mine.”

Meredith also said she “didn’t know why Britani was even talking about her, her marriage, or her husband.”

In a confessional, she doubled down even harder and added: “Leave me alone, leave my husband alone.” The RHOSLC made it crystal clear that she wasn’t entertaining any rumour-mill antics this season, and that Seth was absolutely off-limits.

During the lead-up to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season six, Meredith spoke out about the persistent rumours surrounding her marriage to Seth Marks. In an exclusive with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, she said: “Contrary to what my castmates may see, my dynamic with my husband… is actually really positive and great.”

Meredith acknowledged that they had faced “some little squabbles,” but framed those as “very normal in a healthy relationship.”

She made it clear that the notion of her marriage being on the edge was overstated, noting that Seth’s new remote-work set-up had improved their quality time and reduced conflict.

Earlier on, when rumours began swirling that Seth might have had a “side chick in Ohio,” referenced in a trailer for season five’s reunion, Meredith appeared visibly upset and said: “I’m getting angry. The whole reason I came here was not for this! I am finished,” per E! Online.

Meredith made it crystal clear that she’s over the whisper campaign surrounding her marriage speaking to Bravo.

She said: “The ones who are trying to say their marriages are all perfect are the ones who usually have the biggest problems,” putting the speculation firmly in the glance-and-judgment category.

By framing her marriage as united and off-limits to gossip, Meredith signalled firmly that she won’t be playing into any unfounded narratives.

When she reminded the group they reconciled years ago

Back in earlier seasons, Meredith regularly reminded the cast that she and Seth had already shared their story publicly, and she wasn’t about to open it up for endless speculation.

She confirmed to People that their separation occurred before filming: “We really were headed in a dark space,” she said, and that they agreed to try counselling and walk the path toward reconciliation.

Whenever the topic resurfaced, she held the same line. The RHOSLC star said they went through a very tough period, they patched things up, and the marriage was theirs, not a subplot for cameras.

“The separations we’ve had have been on and off for years and we’ve even dated other people from time to time… It was not something I really wanted to talk about, but I had to and was forced to talk a lot more than I even wanted to by some of the women and that to me is not being a good friend,” she told People.

Speaking on the Viall Files podcast in 2025, Meredith also said: “Seth and I went through some really tough times. We nearly got divorced, we didn’t, we were separated. But, we call it our second marriage, it’s a new relationship…”

She’s fiercely protective every time someone drags Seth

Meredith has never hidden the fact that she gets defensive when castmates take aim at her marriage, or at Seth specifically.

In multiple interviews, she’s called out the women for trying to use him as storyline fuel.

She told Reality Tea that “there’s been a multitude of times over the years where a lot of the women have tried to decimate my marriage… and it’s sort of screwed up.”

Per Bravo, she also admitted that hearing rumours or jokes about their marriage is “frustrating” because “you hear people spreading a lot of lies about you.”
