Sachia Vickery admits she had to resort to OnlyFans as tennis doesn’t ‘pay what you deserve’
She's currently earned over $2.1 million in prize money
Professional tennis player Sachia Vickery has spoken out more her controversial choice to join OnlyFans, blaming the lack of pay in the sports industry as a whole.
Speaking to TMZ, the tennis star explained how hard it is to maintain a professional career for any players who are not in the top rankings.
She said: “At the end of the day, tennis is one of the most expensive sports on the planet, and players fund their whole entire career.
“So somebody like me, I have been funding my career since I was 13, and tennis is one of the few sports where if you’re not inside the top 100, you really don’t get paid what you deserve for the level that you’re at. So I just thought it was a great way to make extra money.”
Despite having earned over $2.1 million in prize money throughout her tennis career, Sachia Vickery felt like OnlyFans was a good wat to increase her income on the side.
She told CNN that she’d damaged her shoulder and had to stop playing for a while, elaborating: “The opportunity came up for me to be on an OFTV show, which was Pickleball.
“And that kind of just boosted everything and I just thought its a great way to have an extra income and its to show another side of me.”
Sachia is also more than aware of the criticism she’s received within the tennis community, but maintained that she doesn’t actually post sexually explicit content.
She explained: “Obviously, I have lingerie content, I have content where I’m really pushing the boundaries, but I’m never fully naked.”
