All the chaotic moments from The Osbournes that cemented its place in reality TV royalty
What a truly amazingly bonkers show
The Osbournes was a genre defining reality TV show that aired on MTV between 2002 and 2005, and quickly became its highest rated show.
A lot of that hinged on the fact that there were some truly chaotic moments that happened both on and off camera, most of which were down to Ozzy Osbourne’s iconic antics.
So, let’s have a look at some of the wildest moments from The Osbournes which helped it to create a completely new genre of reality TV.
Ozzy admitted that he was ‘stoned’ for the entire show

Both Sharon and Ozzy were open about his use throughout the filming of The Osbournes, with Sharon saying: “As Ozzy will tell you, the three years that we were filming, Ozzy was stoned the whole time. He wasn’t sober for one day.”
Ozzy revealed: “When the filming ended, I’d go in my little bunker and smoke a pipe and drink about a case of beer every day.
“I’d give myself some goodness and get up early in the morning and go jogging for six miles. I used to do a lot of prescription drugs as well.”
Aimee Osbourne refused to participate in filming
Ozzy and Sharon’s eldest daughter, Aimee, refused to take part on the show and even completely moved out of the family house throughout filming.
She later explained that she though The Osbournes was a complete “invasion of privacy” and she didn’t want the fame associated with it.
The show became so dangerous to the family that they were forced to stop filming completely

The family received endless threats to their security, including stalkers and even had their home broken into during filming.
As a result, Sharon made the call to pull the plug on the show and stop filming after season four, as she said it had become too dangerous and invasive for the family.
The filming of the show massively impacted the kids

Both Kelly and Jack struggled with addiction both during the filming and after the show finished. Jack went to rehab when was just 17 and Kelly later admitted she’d become addicted to painkillers.
A reboot was announced but was then cancelled by the family

In 2015, a reboot of The Osbournes was announced, however Ozzy ended up calling the whole thing off after calling the original experience “hell.”
