Love Island USA’s TJ reveals he was ‘turned off’ Iris – but has plans for when she leaves
'She was the prize for me'
TJ has done his first official interview since leaving the Love Island USA villa, and he’s admitted he’d “be lying if he said he wasn’t turned off” after seeing a “heartbreaking” scene involving Pepe and Iris after he was dumped from the island.
TJ reveals he was ‘turned off’ Iris during a scene
TJ’s best friend in the villa, Pepe, decided to couple up with Iris after his exit. Since TJ left, he’s done an interview with The Viall Files, where he admits it “hurts” to see Iris has moved on with someone else, but “has to remind himself that not everything is shown.”
He said, “Things may look a certain way or be portrayed a certain way, so that’s always in the back of my mind. I think the best thing is just for me and her to have a conversation and just get the straight up facts, and then make my decision then.”
“I’d be lying if I said that didn’t, you know, turn me off or, like, make me not want to pursue things with her. It’s definitely a tough position watching that, but at the end of the day, not everything is shown so I’m just trying to look at everything in a positive,” TJ added.
TJ continued: “I want to act all cool, like it’s not affecting me at all, but I would be lying. I think watching that episode last night broke my heart, and it was real for me. I didn’t care about the prize money, she was the prize for me, it sucks seeing two of my best friends.”
The episode TJ is talking about is the one where it looked like Iris and Pepe got intimate with one another in bed, but TJ “just hopes it’s genuine” as she’s a “great girl all round who he wants to be happy.” He also said he’s “never felt that way with someone.”
