Here’s why everyone’s saying it’s double standards not to remove Nic from Love Island USA
Controversial videos were discovered on Nic's social media
Nic has made his way into the final couples on Love Island USA season seven, but during that time, his former partner Cierra was removed after using a racial slur in the past, following Yulissa Escobar’s removal earlier on in the season.
Why people think it’s double standards not to remove Nic
Nic has remained in the Love Island USA villa since the start, with what appears to be zero consequences of what happened to him in the past. Crews have even discussed whether to remove Huda after a video of her lip-syncing to a racial slur resurfaced.
However, lots of people now believe it’s double standards that Yulissa and Cierra were removed, with the potential of Huda being told to leave, yet the likes of Nic and Austin haven’t been removed following controversial posts and reshares made online.
He spoke about girls under 18 in one post, and in another post, he appeared to be cutting off the fur of a cat with his friend in a really sensitive video. Nic also used the hashtag “#chinese” in the video caption, which people found very offensive.
Even TikTok placed a sensitive warning over the top of the video due to the nature of the animal appearing uncomfortable and lying in what appears to be a vet room. The caption reads: “He say he hungry this p**** a kitchen #fyp #foryoupage #chinese.”
People now believe that Nic is just as deserving to being removed from the Love Island USA villa as Cierra and Yulissa, because they think he was making a joke about Chinese people eating cats in the post, and that producers are now ignoring it.
The discussion around Nic’s old controversial video doesn’t seem to be happening as much as it is about the racial slurs used by previously axed islanders, while Austin, who has since left as a result of a dumping, apologised for sharing an allegedly racist post.
