Here’s the juicy REAL reason Miranda didn’t join Secret Lives of Mormon Wives until now
We missed out on so much potential drama
Miranda McWhorter is a newbie to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two. But, she’s actually been mingling around with #MomTok for ages. She and Taylor Frankie Paul go way back, but their friendship has been everything other than smooth sailing. Now, Miranda lifts the lid on why she refused to join season one of Mormon Wives…
Miranda could’ve been a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives OG
As all the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives ladies return for season two with a newbie in tow, some people might be wondering just how connected Miranda is to the rest of the cast.
It turned out she used to be close to Tayor Frankie Paul. But things drastically changed after the show’s scandal.
Speaking to Vulture about whether she could’ve joined Mormon Wives’ first season, Miranda said both she and Taylor were “approached for a show a year or so prior that didn’t pan out.”
She explained that when a pilot for Mormon Wives was in the talking stages, “they reached out,” and she “sat on it for a while.”
However, Miranda then cut to the crux of the matter.
She added: “A lot of people think I didn’t do it because of Taylor, which definitely played a role. We weren’t good at the time…
“Do I want to put myself in that position with someone who has made my life so difficult? When Taylor was arrested and they put everything on pause, I was thinking, Maybe I will consider it if she’s not going to be on it. But we wouldn’t know the outcome for a while, so I couldn’t base my decision on that.”
The Hulu star continued: “Had I done season one, my divorce would have been broadcast. That would have made great television, probably, but would be very difficult. So I decided against it.”
Things changed later on for Miranda, though, and she then decided to opt in for season two.
She explained: “They called me two days after the air date of season one and asked if I had reconsidered. At that point, I was divorced and a single mom. I thought, ‘I can’t shake that it feels different this time’. Here we are.”
Miranda was previously married to Chase McWhorter, but the two reportedly split because of the MomTok scandal.
Where do Miranda and Taylor stand now?
It’s no secret that Miranda and Taylor went from BFFs to enemies.
But, it seems they’re trying to rebuild their friendship in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season two.
They’ve both had some time to decompress since the show’s scandal.
Miranda said: “I wanted to face it head on and I’m like I am so over like the running and the hiding, and I feel like I’m a completely different person and I’ve told Taylor this before too, I’m like if there’s anything that you feel like I haven’t been forward about like let’s lay it all out…” speaking to Entertainment Tonight.
She added how she’d like to “move past it once and for all.”
