The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 is officially here and there are some new stand-out stars coming through. Long-time RHOA fans will know Shamea Morton has been a friend of Porsha Williams for decades. But, this year, she’s finally getting the spotlight she deserves and people can’t get enough of her. One glance at Shamea’s home in episode 1 and folks are saying the coin is coining. So, where on earth are these ladies getting their money from?!
RHOA Shamea’s husband has us asking questions
A sneak preview of Cynthia Bailey arriving at Shamea Morton’s home showcases we’ve got an iconic season ahead. Cynthia mouths the word: “Wow,” as she’s greeted by a live violin player.
Cynthia explains: “This is how amazing Shamea’s house is, it didn’t even come with an address on the invite. It just said ‘Sterling Hall’. This is wealth, honey, OK?”
The cameras cut to a confessional where Shamea is asked where Gerald’s (her husband) money comes from.
She jokes: “He’s an African King.”
The reality star continues: “That is totally not true. No, he does HVAC. Some of the airports that you’ve walked through, my husband has built, manufactured and installed the HVAC, so there you have it.”
Anyone watching RHOA is probably still left wondering what is HVAC?!
It stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning – so Gerald’s keeping us all comfortable when we’re making our way through baggage claim.
What about the other RHOA husbands?
While Shamea is literally living a life of luxury, pootling around in her $9 million mansion complete with an elevator, the other ladies aren’t quite on that level.
But, this is Real Housewives we’re talking about, so they’re hardly skimping on expenses.
RHOA star Shamea may have her husband, Gerald, to thank for a lot of that “wealth” Cynthia mentioned.
However, it isn’t marital bliss for all the cat members.
Shamea’s bestie, Porsha, is currently in the midst of a divorce from Simon Guobadia. The two were married for a little over a year.
Simon is an entrepreneur and executive producer. Porsha’s ex, Dennis McKinley, is also a businessman. He’s currently working with Drew Sidora on her music career.
Cynthia Bailey also isn’t depending on a husband these days. But, she did just reveal the identity of her new musician boyfriend!
As for the rest of the ladies, Kenya Moore finalized her divorce from Marc Daly in 2023, and Phaedra Parks isn’t married, either.
RHOA stans will remember the drama playing out between Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman in previous seasons. These days, the couple is in the midst of a divorce. But, they’re co-habiting. Apparently, he’s got the “lower-level penthouse” until the divorce is finalized, per Bravo.
One of the newcomers to the show is also in the midst of a divorce. Kelli Ferrell and her husband, Chuvalo Mark Ferrell, were together 11 years before splitting three years ago.
The other newbies, Angela Oakley and Brit Eady are married ladies, though.
Angela is married to an NBA legend – Charles Oakley. They tied the knot in 2016.
Brit is married to Michael Cunningham and she has a net worth of $2.5 million, per Celebrity Net Worth.
