Pete Davidson shares his opinion on the constant body image scrutiny ex Ariana Grande gets
‘I don’t like it at all’
Pete Davidson has spoken out about the relentless body image scrutiny his ex-fiancée Ariana Grande gets. Recently, Ariana shared that she is currently taking a break from the public eye, because of the constant speculation and unwarranted attention her body image and health gets.
Every time Ariana Grande is seen in public, or performs on tour, images and videos of her go viral. Speculation circulates about her health, with people sharing unsolicited opinions about her body. Following the release of the music video for petal, this conversation returned.
And this was seemingly the final straw. Last month, it was then announced that Ariana would be taking a break following the Eternal Sunshine tour, with her rep confirming she was “taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
In an interview, her ex Pete Davidson has now spoken about this, and shared an update on where his relationship with Ariana Grande is now. They dated for around five months in 2018, got engaged, before calling things off.

Speaking of the scrutiny, he told Variety: “I don’t like it at all. It’s not cool. She’s a really strong person — I’ve witnessed it — and I don’t understand it. She knows how to handle this stuff though. She’s been around. So she’ll be OK, but I think it’s f*cked up.”
He then went on to say they aren’t in regular contact anymore, but things are fine between them. “I think Ariana’s f*ckin’ cool and immensely talented and an awesome girl,” he added. “We’re not texting or whatever, but we’re cool.”
Now, Ariana is said to be enjoying a quiet life in LA, after rekindling her romance with Ricky Alvarez. She’s taking all her time for herself, and it all sounds very wholesome.
“Ariana is doing great,” a source told Page Six. “She’s in an amazing place. She’s really happy.” They said she is “laying low” in LA and “enjoying her downtime.”
