Jonathan Ross shares the one thing the Celebrity Traitors have been told not to reveal

He’s been told off

Tensions have properly hit boiling point on The Celebrity Traitors, with the Faithfuls spiralling as they fail to expose a single Traitor. Last week even saw a show first — the group couldn’t agree on a unanimous vote at the roundtable. But now, it’s not just the in-game paranoia that’s ramping up. Jonathan Ross has revealed that the Celebrity Traitors cast have been slapped with a serious reminder from BBC bosses after some members apparently spilled a few too many secrets.

Speaking on the Reel Talk podcast with his daughter Honey, Jonathan admitted he’d accidentally crossed the line when chatting about scenes that didn’t make it to air.

“It’s nerve-wracking watching it for me,” he said. “The round tables, of course, because a lot of stuff is edited out and I’m not allowed. I didn’t realise, but I’m not allowed to talk about the stuff that’s edited out, which I can understand why.”

He went on to reveal that producers quickly cracked down once they realised a few people had been oversharing: “When I started talking about it last week, they sent us all a kind of list saying, ‘Just to remind you, these are the things in your contracts you’re not allowed to talk about.’ So I’ll skirt around it as much as possible and not break any rules.”

Jonathan added that most of the restrictions make sense — the rules are there to “protect the integrity of the game”, which, given the secrecy that fuels the show, feels fair enough. Still, he teased that there’s loads we haven’t seen: “There are so many funny things Alan Carr did and said that should have been in the first or second episode. There’s Alan Carr gold waiting out there.”

Elsewhere, actress Ruth Codd hinted that there was an “unseen hierarchy” behind the scenes, suggesting there’s even more drama simmering off-camera.

As the next episode looms, either Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont or Nick Mohammed will be the next to fall victim to the Traitors — and with another savage twist on the horizon, the paranoia clearly isn’t going anywhere.
