Yasmin’s mum claims the Love Island vote is ‘fixed’ and that’s why she and Jamie finished third

Love Island lowkey clapped back

Yasmin and Jamie should have won Love Island 2025 in my eyes, but I’m honestly just thrilled for any of my sacred trilogy of girlies smashing it in that top three where they belong. Yasmin and Jamie ended up coming third, which is of course something to be celebrated – but not if you’re mum of Yasmin Mitra – who’s been booting off on TikTok Live and claimed that the Love Island result was fixed and that’s why her daughter and Jamie came third in the end. Love Island bosses have since clapped back with evidence kinda disputing the whole thing.

It’s all booting off on TikTok Live

This all went down on TikTok on Love Island finale night, when Mitra, mum of Yasmin and Yasmin’s iconic twin sister Zara went live to discuss the whole thing. In the live, Mitra can be heard saying”What you don’t understand is this is not a paid vote. If it’s not a paid vote, you cannot see the results. That means they can say whatever they want.

“Do you understand? For you to see the result – a correct result that people vote – you have to pay cash. Because this is free voting, they decide.”

Mitra is referring to how the Love Island votes are cast via the app for free, meaning we can decide our fave couple without having to pay any actual money. However, her point isn’t quite accurate because ITV clapped back by revealing the full breakdown of votes to show who got what and how close the split was.

Mitra also said that she felt like Yasmin and Jamie were never going to win the show after the “edit” following the game where Yasmin wrote Dejon’s name on the chalkboard – and Yas and Jamie had a minor disagreement about it. She added: “I always knew after that episode that Yasmin’s not going to win – because of the way they edited it.”

Toni and Cach won the show, with Shakira and Harry coming in second. Angel and Ty finished last in the final, in fourth place.

Winners Toni and Cach bagged an impressive 33.5 per cent of the vote – Shakira and Harry drew 26.2 per cent of the votes, while Yas and Jamie were not far behind with 22 per cent. Angel and Ty got 18.3 per cent of the final result.
