Woman who ‘died’ for eight minutes describes exactly what she saw, and it’s terrifying
Now I’m not sleeping tonight
What happens when we die is one of life’s biggest mysteries, but people who have medically ‘died’ and then come back to life are the closest thing we can get to finding out the answer.
Brianna Lafferty, a 33-year-old woman from Colorado, has opened up about what she saw and heard when she passed away while living with a life-threatening neurological disorder called myoclonus dystonia.
It reached a point where her body “gave up” on her and she was declared clinically dead, but what happened next is truly terrifying.
As per Jam Press, she remembered hearing a voice asking if she was ready, and then there was total darkness. After that, her soul “floated” above her body and she entered a place with no time.
“I was suddenly separated from my physical body. I didn’t see or remember my human self. I was completely still, yet I felt fully alive, aware and more myself than ever before.” Brianna said – but she wasn’t actually scared.
“There was no pain, just a deep sense of peace and clarity. This detachment from my physical form made me realize our human experience is temporary and fragile. There’s a presence, or intelligence, higher than ourselves that guides and watches over us with unconditional love.”
She also eerily claimed she met “other beings” that she doesn’t think were human, but they felt weirdly “familiar”.
“It changed the course of my life – what I feared no longer had power over me and what I used to chase didn’t seem important anymore. I came back with a sense of mission and deep reverence for both life and death,” the woman added.

“Death is an illusion because our soul never dies. Our consciousness remains alive. And our very essence simply transforms. My thoughts instantly materialised in the afterlife. I realised that our thoughts shape reality there – it just takes time – which is a blessing.”
Her experience was positive, but there’s something about near-death experiences that is just so petrifying.
