No matter where any of the celebs placed in this year’s season of Celebrity Big Brother, the only thing anyone can talk about right now is the dynamic between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes. The two unlikely “soulmate friends” formed an unlikely and unbreakable bond whilst in the house. The two of them swear it’s platonic, familial – and I believe them. JoJo says she’s a lesbian, and that’s that. This hasn’t stopped the relentless speculation however, and Celebrity Big Brother housemates have found themselves asked for their verdict on the JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes situation nonstop since they left the house – here’s what they’ve had to say about it.

Danny Beard

Danny Beard spoke to Pink News when he was asked about the JoJo and Chris dynamic in the house. Danny explained “I did what I’d do to any of my friends in that situation. I said ‘hey, this is how it looks from the outside – if you wanna carry on, carry on.’ But fundamentally their relationship is their personal business and not mine. I just know how I would have felt if my boyfriend would have seen me doing that, and I wouldn’t have wanted him to feel like that.

“I was just making JoJo aware, this is how I would feel if I was your girlfriend. Check on your friends. We should all check on our friends. Other than that, that’s their business.”

Chesney Hawkes

Speaking on Loose Women, iconic one hit wonder and all round lovely vibes guy Chesney explained “Obviously when you’re inside the house you have no idea how it’s being perceived. I kind of gathered they would maybe pick up on Chris and JoJo – just because every time they got into bed together all the cameras went [makes a zooming noise]. The truth is, me and Chris and JoJo were really tight. Our beds were very close and we spent a lot of time together.

“My experience of that relationship is that they were a support for each other and it was really nice to see. I think that they were both very comfortable with each other. I always thought it was platonic. It’s not for me to say.”

Jack P Shepherd

Of the housemates in Celebrity Big Brother, eventual winner Jack P Shepherd gave his verdict on JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes whilst talking to Ed Balls and Susannah Reid on GMB. “From what I saw, they were just the best of friends in the house. He’s like a little bit of a puppy dog is Chris, he needs company.”

“Don’t get me wrong, if it comes out in 20 minutes that they’ve announced the wedding, I’ll be here with egg on my face. Do you know what I mean? But from what I saw, literally just really good mates. She’s an American, she knew nobody in the house and we all rushed for beds and they were just the two that sort of got on.”

Patsy Palmer

When Patsy Palmer was asked about her verdict on her Celebrity Big Brother housemates in a conversation with Lorraine, she explained that regarding Chris and JoJo “I don’t really know, they were down the other end of the bedroom. They keep themselves to themselves. I just thought they were so cute. I know he’s older, but you kind of think they’re the same age. She’s got an old head on herself. She’s very emotionally intelligent.”

Trisha Goddard

When Trisha was speaking to the Loose Women a few weeks ago after being one of the earlier evictees, she was asked about Chris and JoJo and said “Does a barnacle fancy the rock to which its connected? JoJo is fascinating. We had some deep and meaningful conversations. The thing about JoJo and she’s very open about it, she can’t go to a restaurant without security. She can’t do anything. There’s a money making machine. Her image, everything is controlled.

“In the house, I think unexpectedly, she found a freedom to be a child and be a kid. She had an old head on young shoulders because of the business side. When Chris first came into the house, he made a beeline for Ella. And then JoJo came in with her energy and I felt for Ella. It’s very, very intense.”
