The Buffy cast we NEED to return to play these iconic characters in the reboot sequel

Let’s not beat about the bush – all the evidence is pointing towards confirming that Buffy the Vampire Slayer is about to rise up from the grave and slay all over again. With Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed to be returning as Buffy in a recurring role if the show goes ahead, who else might also crop up? The information the news world has scrambled together so far shows that the new reboot sequel of Buffy will focus on a brand new Slayer in the wake of the big spell Willow did in season seven which activated all Slayers globally. But if Buffy Summers herself is popping back to return in the reboot sequel show, all of these iconic characters and the legendary cast of actors playing them should too.

Cordelia Chase, played by Charisma Carpenter

Whilst it’s canon that Cordelia is technically dead, it’s also not impossible that she just ascended to a higher plain. Charisma Carpenter is so integral to Buffy and Angel and has been making so much content recently about the show that I need her back. She just reprised the role in the Audible series Slayers – and that used an alternate reality version of Cordelia. Just do the same again. Bring her back.

Giles, played by Anthony Head

There was actually meant to be a spinoff series centred on Giles called Ripper that never materialised. Anthony Head is still a prolific actor in the UK and any returning Giles would be so welcome. We will all collectively ignore what the franchise did to him in the comic canon. For all our sakes.

Dawn Summers, played by Michelle Trachtenberg

Dawn is an unfairly maligned character in Buffy, and I will defend her to the hilt. She always gets stick for being whiny – she was literally 14 years old, found out she wasn’t real, lost her mum,  nearly got bled to death at the top of a tower and then had to watch her sister sacrifice her life to save the world. She’s allowed to whine a bit!

With Sarah coming back as Buffy, surely her literal sister should be coming back too!?

Drusilla, played by Juliet Landau

Drusilla is one of the only vampires still actually ALIVE. She has never been staked, even in the comic book canon I don’t THINK they’ve killed her off – even when they brought her back she just sort of went off. I’d love to see her return as a villain and finally get dusted. More Juliet Landau is never a bad thing.

Andrew Wells, played by Tom Lenk

Andrew literally made the final season of Buffy not a disaster – Tom Lenk brings so much to this great role. I love Andrew’s path for redemption and his growth into a Watcher after the TV show. He should be a lead role in my opinion. The new Slayer’s Giles!

Clem

The purest soul to ever live. Call the Buffy reboot sequel ‘Clem’ actually, and forget this other cast of characters, let’s just make the return of the best show ever all about him.
