Um, what is the weather like in the All Stars villa? The Islanders look freezing!
Some of them are literally wearing winter jackets
Love Island All Stars is just getting juicy as Ronnie and Harriett reunite and Scott and Luca beef, but there’s one thing I can’t stop thinking about. What’s the weather like in the villa?!
The cast are sunbathing in bikinis all day, but as soon as it hits the evening they’re all opting for jeans and massive winter jackets. Plus, Ron keeps wearing that pink woolly jumper.
Love Island is all about jetting off to a sunny, warm destination and looking for love while living it up on a two-month summer holiday, so why does it look so… cold?
The All Stars villa is located in Franschhoek, South Africa, a town just east of Cape Town known for its centuries-old vineyards and architecture.
A quick search for the location on BBC Weather reveals that it’s getting down as low as 11 degrees Celsius at night. 11 DEGREES! No wonder they’re wearing winter jumpers.
Temperatures are sitting at around 23 to 31 degrees in the daytime but plummeting in the middle of the night, which is when a lot of Love Island is filmed.
They have to wait until it gets dark to film the evening scenes and recouplings always go on until 5am or later, which is always the coldest part of the night.
“We would go to bed and it would be getting light outside, the birds would start, so it was late nights sometimes,” Eve Gale told Closer.
“Although that’s me guessing, because we didn’t know the time. Sometimes we would get lie-ins if we were up quite late, but usually we’d get up quite early.”

For the next week in Franschhoek, the nighttime temperatures range from 11 to 14 degrees, which is actually pretty chilly. It’s definitely not summer holiday weather!
The normal Love Island is always filmed in June, July and August on the Spanish island of Majorca when temperatures rarely drop below 21 degrees, even in the middle of the night.
