All Ekin-Su’s attempts at fame before resorting to Love Island All Stars

I swear this girl’s been on even more reality shows than Joey Essex

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu had an extremely eventful two years before returning for Love Island: All Stars. After winning Love Island with Davide back in 2022, she’s attempted to stay in the limelight by appearing on, like, a gazillion different reality TV shows. She also wrote a whole book which reportedly sold barely any copies. Hey, the girl’s a Leo. She was born to be the centre of your attention.

Here’s a deep dive at what Ekin-Su has been up to since winning Love Island in 2022, before she resorted to returning to the villa for All Stars.

She and Davide had a very short-lived travel show

What a throwback, guys. Ekin-Su and Davide frolicked around Turkey and Italy for two whole episodes of Ekin-Su & Davide: Homecomings on ITV2. The couple tragically split up for good in January 2024.

She claimed she was asked to present Love Island (?!)

Um, so Ekin-Su told Pop Sugar that ITV asked her to replace Laura Whitmore as the host of Love Island.

She said, “I did get offered. I would’ve loved to do it, but I can’t at the minute because of how busy I am. And I said I’m not ready for it.”

Maybe Ekin-Su was a bit confused? Because an insider told the Radio Times that Maya Jama was always the first choice for the job. Valid.

Ekin-Su got a load of Ofcom complaints on Dancing on Ice

She competed on the show in 2023. During an ice-skating dance routine in a sparkly leotard to Britney Spears’s Toxic, she recreated the iconic moment when she crawled across the roof terrace of the Love Island villa. The show got 112 Ofcom complaints. I am not making this up.

All four judges voted her off the show in week four. She came ninth out of eleven celebrities.

She was on the US version of The Traitors (but didn’t last long)

Last year, Ekin-Su went on The Traitors in the USA – the version of the show with reality TV celebs. Despite wearing some terrific corset and cape combos, she failed to thrive on the show. She accepted a poisoned chalice from the Traitor Parvati Shallow and “died”.

She was legit on Celebrity Big Brother 2024

I swear four must be Ekin-Su’s unlucky number. She went out in the fourth week of Dancing on Ice, was “killed” in the fourth episode of The Traitors and was the fourth Celebrity Big Brother housemate to be evicted.

Ekin-Su’s time on Celebrity Big Brother was, ahem, not well-received by the critics. (And by the critics, I mean those people who spend more time tweeting about the show than actually looking at the TV.) She inexplicably kicked off every time another housemate mentioned Love Island. But she can’t resent the show too much, because she’s literally back in the villa ten months later for Love Island: All Stars.

Yes, Ekin-Su wrote a whole self-help book / memoir

The succicntly-named book “Be Your Own Best Friend: And other lessons from a life in and out of the limelight” is out now in all good book stores for £20.00! *Jazz hands*.

The book is described as an “honest and uplifting guide to life” in  which she “reveals the hard-won lessons that have made her the person she is today”. The Daily Mail reported that the book failed to sell 500 copies within the first three months.
