A stay at Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic – rooms from £195 per night
A hotel that’s been visited by everyone from Bella Hadid to Leo Dicaprio? Say less. This 90-year-old hotel on Cannes’ La Croisette coastline is brimming with classic French charm. A grand, chandeliered lobby, Fouquet’s restaurant where Crepe Suzzettes are made table-side, a seafront pool with iconic red-striped loungers, and luxurious treatments Spa Diane Barrière.
It’s hard to not feel a little bit famous yourself while you’re here, even if you’re a nobody compared to the huge names who hang on the wall – all of whom have visited or stayed here during the Cannes film festival. They are, of course, staying in one of the eight signature suites, each with its own unique decor, and making use of the hotel’s VIP signature concierge services. One is inspired by Christian Dior, and another has a private rooftop pool overlooking the French Riveria and famous Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
But for all the air of showbiz, there’s a cool contemporary side – Paradiso restaurant, BFire by Mauro Colagreco set on the beach, and new rooms refurbished by architect and interior designer Isabelle Stanislas.
Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic is a legendary hotel with plenty of class and proper five-star service. Room service breakfast comes under a silver cloche.
