All the times the MAFS UK 2024 cast slated the show and producers
They’re finally realising what all reality dating show viewers know
Guys, I have some shocking news – reality TV shows might be more about the “TV” than the “reality”? *Swoons*. Loads of the MAFS UK 2024 cast have spoken out about how the experiment wasn’t what they thought it would be. Several suggested MAFS UK cared more about entertaining the masses then finding the contestants true love.
So, here is a rundown of all the times the MAFS UK 2024 cast accused the show of being more about entertainment than love. Be warned, some of these claims are pretty brutal.
Polly said the cast were treated like ‘puppets’
The wedding dress company Victoria Elaine Bridal interviewed Polly on 12th November. She didn’t hold back her views on the show.
Polly complained about how the crew sometimes ask blatantly obvious questions in the talking head interviews. She said, “Sometimes they do ask you a bit of a stupid question and you answer it in a (sarcastic) way, and that’s the bit they show. Even though, when you’re in that moment, you think, they’re asking to take the p*ss.
“They know why they’re asking you that question, and then they have to think what that they can put that over something. They’re very clever, but it’s entertainment. That’s ultimately what it’s for. They’ve got a job to do, and we’re just the puppets.”
The interviewer then flat-out asked Polly, “Do you think you signed up to a programme about love or about entertainment?”
Polly’s response was brutal. She said, “That’s really hard. For this series, I wish it was for love, but I would say as a viewer it’s sheer entertainment. I wish it was different.

“With how things have played out, with what’s happened with certain couples, you can’t say that it hasn’t been for entertainment. It’s been like a series of Geordie Shore, for Christ’s sake! It’s been mental.
“Unfortunately, the penny started to drop around week two. But I’d say the week after the honeymoon, I – or we – people – should have left a lot sooner.”
Sacha complained the show made one aspect of her romance with Ross ‘fake and false and ridiculous’
Let’s recap – MAFS UK 2024 has devoted a lot of screentime to the supposedly insurmountable distance between Sacha and Ross’s hometowns. (Even though Google Maps says it takes about an hour and a half to drive from Walsall to Manchester?)
In a series of scathing social media posts, Sacha claimed Channel 4 edited her final vows to manufacture a TV storyline which just wasn’t reflective of their relationship.
The people’s princess Sacha wrote on Facebook, “OMG ALREADY FUMING WITH THE EDIT FOR FINAL VOWS!!! I can’t write here now why I was crying but it was to do with them ruining a surprise I had for Ross. As if they’ve done me that dirty!! Making out it was because of him not moving. Was absolutely nothing to do with it and it was a bts thing. AHHHH! Absolutely disgusting they’d do that to me!!!”
Sacha then complained about the MAFS UK producers on her Instagram story. “I am seething. I wanna swear so bad, arseholes. How dare they make it look like I was crying over something to do with what Ross was saying. No, no, no. They ruined something for me, a surprise I had for Ross right before because it was going to ruin it.
“And they’ve edited it to look like I was crying about Walsall. I can’t believe how bad they’ve done me dirty, how fake and false and ridiculous and a complete lie that edit is. I didn’t think they could be that bad but they are that bad.” Ouch.
Richelle implied the show didn’t have her interests at heart
It’s no secret that Richelle isn’t a fan of the show’s format. She didn’t show up for the reunion dinner party or commitment ceremony. It’s looking unlikely that she’ll rock up to the Christmas MAFS UK reunion, either.
After the commitment ceremony aired in which Richelle and Orson finally quit MAFS UK 2024, Richelle posted some scathing comments about the show on Instagram. The very, very long Insta post covered just about everything.
She wrote, “Sadly, the process was not what I had expected or hoped for. Maybe I was naive thinking it would be an equal and fair playing field, but in reality that was not the case.”
I’m guessing Richelle wasn’t a fan of the edit she got?
“I didn’t mentally prepare myself for a situation where every time the cameras came on I’m caught off guard not knowing the f*ck is going on. Even supporting actresses are given a script right!
“Once it became glaringly obvious the process was dubious and only I had my interests at heart, self-preservation kicked in. I know some of you aren’t going to want to hear this, but kindness is a choice and I was under no obligation, given the situation I was in to be kind!
“Anyone who has had to live through the consequences of deceit, whether in relationships and/or professional life will tell you they never once looked back and thought ‘well, at least I was kind’.
“Personally, at my age now, I know I’d rather by thought of as ‘vile and mean’ than be a MUG.”
Er, each to their own, I guess?
Caspar slammed the show for being different to how he thought
Er, so Caspar revealed that he wishes he hadn’t put so much faith in the experiment and had just ditched the show earlier.
He told the Southern Daily Echo, “Would I do the show again knowing what I know now? No. The experience of filming and lack of control wasn’t great for me as a person, I didn’t enjoy that. If I could give myself some advice – looking back to when I was applying – I’d be more definite about what I was looking for.
“I trusted too much in the experiment and not enough in my gut and I should have trusted myself a bit more and been more selective because at the end of the day you’re never going to change someone and they’re not going to change you.”
Amy advised future MAFS contestants to ‘go to acting lessons’
After Amy’s pasta-making date with Luke aired, she ranted away about the show on her Instagram story. She did take down most of the stories quickly afterwards, so her opinions may have changed since. But basically, in that moment she was not happy with how the edit portrayed her relationship with Luke.
Our queen Amy was upset that the show had cut out all the cutesie happy moments of her date. Because the producers had to cut a conversation about a topic which can’t be aired, it then looked like their row came from nowhere. She criticised the show for portraying her “as a stuck-up, evil b*tch”.
Her advice for other people who wanted to go on reality TV dating shows was pretty straight to the point. She suggested they “go in with a game plan”, “be fake as sh*t for the cameras” and “go to acting lessons”.
A Channel 4 spokesperson told The Tab: “Whilst what viewers see on screen is condensed into an hour, all broadcast episodes of MAFS UK are a fair and accurate reflection of the events that took place.”
