Grand Theft Auto 6 radio songs

45 perfect bangers Rockstar NEED to add to the Grand Theft Auto 6 car radio

Driving through Vice City blasting Nelly Furtado’s Say It Right? A must

| UPDATED

One of the most crucial things to get right when it comes to any Grand Theft Auto game is making sure the car radio stations blast only the best tunes. The songs that are chosen will be changed forever. If you can look me in the eye and say you can listen to Pure Shores by All Saints or Kids by Kylie Minogue and not instantly be transported to those times where you’re cruising down Los Santos’ highways, I will give you a tenner. The music makes it. The pressure’s obviously on for Rockstar to make the Grand Theft Auto 6 soundtrack slap harder than ever, so I did the job for them – here’s 45 songs that need to be on the car radio stations in the game. You’re welcome.

1. George Michael – Flawless (Go to the City)

Picture it: The sun setting over the sea. George Michael’s chicest and most underrated rammer booming through Lucia’s convertible’s speakers. Perfection.

2. Childish Gambino – Redbone

The kind of song that feels like it was written specifically to be on the radio in a GTA game. Like, close your eyes and listen to Donald Glover’s best song and tell me you aren’t right there in the game as you listen.

3. Lana Del Rey – Doin Time

What better Lana song to put in this game than the woozy summer delirium of her Sublime cover? It sounds like you’ve just had 5 beers and you’ve lost track of time, and that’s how playing GTA 6 needs to feel.

4. HAIM – The Steps

This is the kind of song I’d hope came on when I’m on a mission that’s on literally the other side of the map and I need to belt along to something anthemic as I zoom across the highway running across NPCs.

5. Texas – Inner Smile

And when HAIM wrap it up, straight on to what is potentially the best song ever made. No, I’m not being hyperbolic. This could raise me from the dead, and hopefully raise Lucia when she gets GTA Wasted.

6. Jungle – Back on 74

One of the grooviest little bops of 2023, I would be kicking my little feet if I heard this through the neon night glow of Vice City. Give it to me now.

7. Mitski – The Only Heartbreaker

The mood and the angst of Mitski’s The Only Heartbreaker soundtracking the most nerve shredding car chase of your gaming life? Simply a must.

8. Peggy Gou – I Go

Grand Theft Auto 6 needs a dance anthem for me to cruise about to, and of all the songs on the radio you just know Peggy Gou would deliver the goods. I could have any of her bops on there to be honest, but I Go feels the most GTA to me.

9. Doja Cat – Paint The Town Red

Of all the songs from 2023 that Rockstar need to absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, add to the car radio in Grand Theft Auto 6 – Doja Cat’s chart topping Paint The Town Red is top of the list. It’s lazy, effortless swagger and formidable menace is main character syndrome to the max. Lucia could be literally singing it.

10. Fiona Apple – Criminal

Is it on the nose to put a song literally called Criminal in GTA? Who cares! It slaps. It fits the vibe. Done deal.

11. Ethel Cain – Crush

The faux-Florida Everglades equivalent in GTA 6 looks like we’ll be going through the swampier areas of Rockstar’s version of the state, and who better to soundtrack that feel than Ethel Cain. I need to edge gators whilst Crush blasts out NOW.

12. Grimes – Kill V. Maim

Can’t think of many songs that suit the unbridled carnage of Grand Theft Auto than Kill V. Maim, Grimes’ magnum opus. It’s what you want to hear with a five star Wanted rating.

13. Phoebe Bridgers – Kyoto

Not the wildest song to get up to mischief with but maybe one to start a lazy morning running over pedestrians on the beach with. If you’re that way inclined.

14. Confidence Man – Holiday

Name a song with a more stirring intro that would hit as hard as this when you’re driving about and the sun is setting. I’d actually ascend. My car would sprout wings.

15. Janelle Monáe – Make Me Feel

Since it first started grooving into my ears in 2018, Make Me Feel has never stopped feeling fresh. It never will. These eternal grooves are what games like GTA 6 need – GTA 5 has had a 15 life cycle and GTA 6 is surely going to follow suit. We need songs that will never get old – this is such a song.

16. PinkPantheress – Nice to meet you

This tweet alone sold me on this.

17. Taylor Swift – Lavender Haze

I’m sure a million gamer boys across the world are snorting at the mere idea of Taylor Swift making it as one of the songs on the car radio of Grand Theft Auto 6. She’s the most famous artist in the world – the people of Leonida (fake Florida) will absolutely be listening to Taylor Swift. Considering how the skies look in game from what we’ve seen so far, Lavender Haze is perfect.

18. Shygirl – SLIME

The sleazy, strip club thumping presence of SOPHIE’s production and Shygirl’s bars? You’d be crazy not to, Rockstar. This song is dollar bills in titties.

19. Mason VS Princess Superstar – Perfect (Exceeder)

Happy to have seen one of my favourite 00s bangers ever get a big profile boost these last few weeks thanks to it appearing on the Saltburn soundtrack – let’s keep that upward momentum and shove it on GTA 6’s radio too. It’s an anthem of debauchery.

20. Shakira – Bzrp Music Sessions

One of the heavy dominators of 2023, Shakira’s Bizarrap team up saw everyone lose their minds over the Pique diss track energy – her most fun song in years. It’s so GTA sounding it hurts.

21. Dave and Central Cee – Sprinter

I’m not sure if Sprinter has made it stateside – but it’s one of the biggest and best songs in the UK this year. I need to drive to this song as a matter of urgency. If they put Kids by Kylie and Robbie on GTA 5, they can give us Dave for GTA 6. End of.

22. Robyn – Missing U

There’s a synthy theme to a lot of these tracks I think would thrive as the songs on the car radio of Grand Theft Auto 6, and that’s because I can’t see the word Vice, the purple skies and the white beaches without thinking thumping synth. Nobody does it better than Robyn – we had her on GTA V and she’s gonna come back with a vengeance.

23. COBRAH – GOOD PUSS

Another strip club anthem here – COBRAH’s Good Puss might be a bit of an outsider on this list, but it’s one I think the game could make win an army of fans. It’s hypnotic. It’s so correct.

24. The 1975 – People

The 1975 went anarchic and screamo on People, and this is the kind of chaotic song I need to be blasting when I see the Leonida hillbillies causing chaos in mud amongst monster trucks.

25. Fontaines D.C. – Jackie Down The Line

This song makes me feel MERCILESS. I wanna listen to it whilst I get geared up for the hardest mission of my life.

26. Madonna – La Isla Bonita

Everything about GTA 6 feels sun kissed, so it simply needs the greatest holiday, sunny day song of all time booming out. Duh.

27. CMAT – I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby

A rogue one but Americans love country music and no one is making better country music than Ciara Marie Ann Thompson. Instant classic. Great Irish songbook. Not a want but a need.

28. ROSALÍA and Raw Alejandro – BESO

Rosalía already had her own full radio station in GTA 5 – her music and these games are a match made in a heaven. This year’s BESO, released before they split up, needs its moment.

29. The Weeknd – In Your Eyes

Honestly, you could fit any 80s era synth pop The Weeknd into the soundtrack and I’d be happy – but something is calling out to me about In Your Eyes. Either this or the Kylie song of the same name. Not fussy.

30. Pet Shop Boys – Rent

Keeping up the momentum of West End Girls having pride of place on the GTA 5 soundtrack, it’s time to let the best PSB song ever have its day in the Leonidan sun.

31. Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow – INDUSTRY BABY

I refuse to believe a world is going to exist where Lil Nas X isn’t blasting out the car radio of Grand Theft Auto 6 – and this of all his songs will be the one to do it. Trust me. It’s a call to arms.

32. Mark Ronson – Late Night Feelings

There’s no better songs to go driving at 3am to than this one from Mark’s delicious album of the same name. Inject it.

33. Kim Petras – Malibu

This one I need more than life itself, honestly. I don’t care if it’s the wrong state. You know it makes sense.

34. Azealia Banks – Fuck Him All Night

It’s not GTA with a bit of jaw dropping X-rated chaos, so who better to bring that energy than Azealia Banks with the riotous Fuck Him All Night?! No one. Every time I hear “My p*ssy fat like Lizzo” I lose my mind.

35. Tyler, The Creator – EARFQUAKE

For real, for real, for real this timeeeeee! Another song that simply exists to be blasted out of cars. Its destiny has always been GTA 6, it just didn’t know it yet.

36. Nelly Furtado – Say It Right

A timeless Timbaland produced piece of magic. Remember how we said about how it needs timeless songs? Well here you are, baby. Fresh forever.

37. Drake – Massive

This Drake album was all over the place but I feel like Massive has that dancey sleaze to it that GTA needs on its soundtrack. It feels slutty, sweaty, dripping – like all good games need to feel x

38. SZA – Nobody Gets Me

The laid-back, Fade Into You guitar of SZA’s Nobody Gets Me makes it a woozy essential for me for those relaxed music moments. This album is still dominating best of lists a year after release – makes so much sense to me SZA will be blasted in the game.

39. Le Tigre – Deceptacon

Lucia a bit of a riot grrrl? I see it. I could kick any door in the universe off its hinges when this is booming.

40. Britney Spears – I’m A Slave 4 U

Rockstar has already proved it has a penchant for The Spears – Gimme More was one of the greatest songs on GTA V. Lightning can strike twice people! Get I’m A Slave on 6 NOW.

41. Kacey Musgraves – High Horse

Another essential modern country pop classic. Don’t waste this opportunity, Rockstar. I’ve faced facts it would make no sense in Red Dead. Don’t let me down.

42. Caroline Polachek – Sunset

Again, Caroline Polachek got Bunny Is A Rider into GTA V on the Motomami radio station. The sunshine state needs Sunset!

43. Beyoncé – HEATED

EAT IT. EAT IT. EATIT-EATIT-EATIT.

44. 100 gecs – Hollywood Baby

Who better to give the game some futuristic anarchism than the gecs? No one. I would take literally any song, and perhaps this is better suited to GTA V, but I’m shoving it in here anyway.

45. Nicki Minaj – Red Ruby Da Sleaze

Turning Vice City into Gag City.

Listen to a playlist of all 45 bangers here.
