Newcastle ranks higher than ever in best student cities world ranking

Newcastle ranks among the top 40, alongside London, Manchester and Glasgow

Newcastle is the 39th best student city in the world, according to the new best Student Cities ranking by QS Top Universities.

This is a three place increase from last year’s ranking where it ranked 42nd. Newcastle was tied at 39th this year, with Prague and Chicago.

On the other hand, Newcastle ranked above fellow UK cities Coventry and Bristol.

Newcastle University (@newcastleuni) took to social media to react to the great news with a celebratory post.

In previous years, Newcastle ranked 43rd and 57th, in 2022 and 2019 respectively. This presents a trend for Newcastle, with an increase in its position ranking every year.

QS base their rankings on factors such as desirability, affordability, university rankings, student mix and employer activity. Out of 160 student cities, Newcastle’s position is a worthy accomplishment.
