23-year-old heir to £230 million pie company fortune accused of stabbing best friend to death

A 23-year-old heir to a £230 million pie company fortune has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his best friend and housemate to death on Christmas Eve.

William Bush was found dead in a car park next to Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff on Christmas Eve after being stabbed, reportedly by his housemate Dylan Thomas.

Dylan Thomas is heir to one of the UK’s biggest fortunes. He appeared at Cardiff magistrates’ court on the 28th December and was charged with murder. He is expected at the city’s crown court on the 2nd February.

The two were said to have been “best mates” and lived together in a terraced house, in Cardiff according to the Sun.

It is believed that Dylan Thomas moved into the terraced house owned by his grandparents two years ago with his black labrador. His best friend Will moved in soon after.

Both Dylan and William attended the same private school, Christ College in Cardiff. The school costs up to £33,285 a year.

In a statement via South Wales Police, William’s family said: “Our beloved Will was taken away from us in such a cruel and indescribable way. Will was such a loyal, funny and caring son, brother and boyfriend.

“We are absolutely devastated and as a family request that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

William Bush was said to be hugely into sports and was a keen rugby player and golfer. Police tape and flowers were left at the scene last week.

Dylan Thomas, who has been charged with murder, is the grandson of Sir Gilbert Stanley Thomas, a Welsh business tycoon including who owned the multimillion-pound pie company, Peter’s Pies. Sir Gilbert Stanley Thomas was knighted in 2006 for his charity work and services to business.

The business, Peter’s Savoury Products, was sold for £75million in 1988. Dylan Thomas was set to inherit the £230 million fortune.

South Wales Police said witnesses, or anyone with information is asked to contact the force, quoting the reference number 2300436163.
