Kelly Osbourne Oh that's not

It’s all over TikTok, so where did the ‘Oh that’s not…’ Kelly Osbourne trend come from?

She is never living this down

If you spend too long on TikTok, you just know that your algorithm gets a bit weird when you’ve been sat scrolling and procrastinating your entire life for about three hours. But if you’ve got sucked into your FYP over the last few days you probably can’t escape videos of people going “If you kick every [something] out this country, then who will…”

But on all these videos there are comments like: “I don’t GET IT where did this come from??” and “No because these slowly have taken over my FYP!! Where did they come from??”And unless you were chronically online in 2015, then you’re probably wondering where on earth this trend started and what it’s actually referencing.

So this is where the ‘Oh that’s not…’ trend on TikTok actually comes from and why Kelly Osbourne is involved:

Basically, it came from an interview that TV personality Kelly Osbourne, daughter of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, did on US talk show The View back in 2015. The guests started to discuss Donald Trump’s stance on immigration and Kelly Osbourne said the very controversial comment: “If you kick every Latino out of this country then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”

The co-host then replied: “Oh that’s not…” before Kelly tries to explain herself and trips over her words: “In the sense that, you know what I mean, what I’m saying”.

Since then, “Oh that’s not…” has been used as a bit of a catchphrase all over the internet to describe someone’s opinion which is slightly off or controversial. Kelly Osbourne has since addressed the comments but will probably never live the moment down because it’s referenced literally all the time.

But now people are making their own versions of the trend and it’s taking over everyone’s FYPs.

One TikTok, which now has over 11.4 million views and 2.6 million likes, says: “If you kick every they/them out of this country, who is going to be making your drinks Starbucks?”

Another TikTok references the current 10 year old Sephora epidemic we’re living through right now: “If you kick every 10 year old out of this country then who is going to be clearing out your Sephora displays Drunk Elephant?”

One comment reads: “This is so funny bc that video is so old. I know she thought she must’ve lived it down but here we are” and another person added: “The funniest trend we’ve had in a while”.
