Oh no! MAFS Australia’s Melinda and Layton have broken up!

Prepare to have a shock, because MAFS Australia couple Melinda and Layton have split up after a year together.

The couple were matched on Married at First Sight and tied the knot on the show last year, and have just celebrated their one year anniversary as husband and wife. The couple have said they are breaking up and spending some time apart for now, but did hint that they may reunite in the future, if it feels right.

Announcing the news of their split on Instagram, both Melinda and Layton wrote over a picture from their wedding day: “Hi all – we wanted to keep this private for the time being, but we have a lot of supporters that are invested in the relationship and owe it to you to be transparent.

“After a lot of thought and consideration, we have sadly decided to both take time apart. We still care very deeply for each other and this doesn’t mean our lives can’t come back together, but as of now, we think this decision is for the best.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all your support throughout our journey, it has meant the world to us. We hope you can understand and ask for your kindness and respect during this time.”

Melinda and Layton’s split comes as an huge shock, as Layton only just recently relocated to Brisbane to be closer to Melinda. We’ve lost another MAFS couple!
