Royal links and A-list neighbours: Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ extravagant ‘forever home’

They’d allegedly planned to spend this Christmas there as a family

When Sophie Turner filed a lawsuit against her estranged husband Joe Jonas to bring their two daughters back to the UK yesterday, court papers filed in Manhattan outlined how Sophie and Joe had found their “forever home” in England this July – two months before he filed for separation earlier this month.

Before selling their six-bedroom mansion in Miami for $15 million (£12.2 million) in August, the court papers claimed Sophie and Joe had been living in the UK in a rented house while property hunting and were due to complete on a gorgeous home in Oxford, with quick links to her family in Warwickshire and work in London, this December.

So, in case you’re curious about Sophie and Joe’s “forever home” in England, which everybody keeps referencing as the legal back and forth of their separation continues to unfold, here’s everything you need to know about their boujee British life— including royal connections and A-list neighbours:

According to Sophie’s legal filing, she and Joe had been property hunting in England from December 2022. And, after months of searching, they found the “beautiful country property” were looking for in July 2023 in a town in a historic market town in Oxfordshire, which backs onto the River Thames and is a two hour drive from central London.

Like many of the properties in the area, the house Sophie and Joe were expecting to complete on together is a Grade II listed building, which is part of a larger estate and has an actual castle situated an eleven minute drive down the road.

The area of Oxfordshire Sophie and Joe had chosen to settle in is boujee and has been home to royals, nobility and politicians for hundreds of years. The nearby castle actually used to be used a royal residence until it was abandoned by Henry VIII and fell into disrepair.

Sophie and Joe aren’t the first celebrities to choose this part of Oxfordshire for their forever home. Michael Caine lived in a £6.9 million 17th century country house in the area for decades and George Michael – who lives in the surrounding area – has been spotted shopping for antiques. And, as if it couldn’t get British enough with the royalty and national treasures, Agatha Christie also lived in the town for 40 years.

The surrounding leafy areas to Joe and Sophie’s forever home offer endless options for private schools. One being Cranford House School, another grade II listed building where fees cost up to £7,125 per year to send your child there. There are tennis courts, netball courts, a swimming pool, an Orangery dining room, and an Atrium library. So, not your average crumbling maths block, then.
