Here’s how to get your Instagram Threads countdown ticket before the app launches

Instagram Threads launches tomorrow (Thursday 6th July) – and with it will come Meta’s answer to Twitter, a direct rival to Elon Musk and Twitter as the latter has had perhaps its most chaotic weekend in the social network’s history. What is Instagram Threads? Promotional text for Threads describes it as “where communities come together to discuss everything from the topics you care about today to what’ll be trending tomorrow. Whatever it is you’re interested in, you can follow and connect directly with your favourite creators and others who love the same things – or build a loyal following of your own to share your ideas, opinions and creativity with the world.” Meta have shared a countdown to launch at 3pm tomorrow, and you can find your personalised invite for your followers – here’s how to find your Instagram Threads ticket.

Go on the main Instagram app

Head to Instagram as you would normally, and go to the search section. When on the Explore page, type in the word Threads into the bar at the top and you should see a ticket emoji pop up VERY SATISFYINGLY in the search bar. Click on it and your bespoke Threads ticket will pop up, giving you a what looks like you’re about to go to a rave kind of a vibe. The ticket will spin around but you can stop it on either side, and share it to let your friends on socials know where to find you when Instagram Threads launches on July 6th.
