Melinda sets the record straight about her ‘feud’ with MAFS Australia co-star Evelyn

Married at First Sight Australia 2023 bride Melinda Willis has set the record straight about her alleged feud with co-star Evelyn Ellis.

Rumours began to spread about the pair after Melinda seemingly made a dig at Evelyn and Duncan’s relationship, suggesting it could all be a publicity stunt, but did acknowledge their relationship was going strong.

Melinda told Heat World: “I feel like in the beginning, you know, maybe they didn’t realise it was going to be like a real relationship. Maybe it was more like a bit of a hype, then it turned into a real relationship. That’s all I’m going to say.”

After this, the drama went even deeper after it was reported the former brides “avoided” each other at an event.

At the Logies nominations breakfast, it was reported former MAFS Australia bride Melinda refused to take a photo with Evelyn and they didn’t talk to one another, despite being very close after the show.

However, Melinda has since revealed what actually happened and turns out, they’re still friends!

“There was an article that came out saying like, ‘Brides at war, besties Mel and Ev are no longer friends’. So that’s not entirely true,” she said in an Instagram Q&A.

“Lately, I’ve done some interviews and I feel that a lot of things have been taken out of context and there’s a lot of media stirring the pot. You just don’t really know who to believe.”

Melinda went on to reveal what really happened at the Logies event, dubbing it as “really awkward”.

“So when I went over to say hi and hug Ev at the event, she didn’t give me a hug,” Melinda explained. “So, I was really awkward and taken aback.”

Former MAFS Australia bride Melinda went on to say she spoke with Evelyn “later on” and the influencer said she thought “it was [Melinda] who wasn’t going to give her the hug”.

“She was also awkward. So everything is okay,” Melinda confirmed.
