Love Island 2022’s Remi claims he was assaulted by a friend of Jacques’ in ‘setup’ attack
Remi and Jacques had beef after they were on the show together
Love Island 2022 star Remi Lambert has claimed he has been victim to an assault, committed by a friend of Jacques O’Neill, who he appeared on the show with.
On his Instagram story, Remi said the pair’s historic beef has “gone too far” as he described what he claims happened. “Wasn’t going to bring this up but this has gone too far now,” his statement began.
He then claims on Saturday night he was “assaulted by one of Jacques’ friends” and that Jacques and the accused had followed him on a walk back from a night out. He claims “Jacques began to start an argument about the Love Island beef that was a year ago” and said “out of nowhere” the friend punched him.
“I think it was a setup to get me to react but I’m too mature for this bs,” Remi said, before asking anyone who might have seen what he alleges happened to contact him.
After Remi left the Love Island 2022 villa, he claimed Jacques and Luca Bish had bullied him and said they should have been kicked out the villa because of their behaviour towards him. Comments were made on an Instagram live about Remi, and Remi also said his time in the villa was “made shit” by people bullying him.
“I wish everyone could see all of the crap I went through,” he said at the time. “There are 24 hours in a day and yous only seen like about 3-5 10 second clips of me out of the whole day, so you could never tell what was truly happening.

“Jacques said bad things about my appearance and the way I speak, whilst Luca was encouraging it. After about three strikes from Jacques I told him I won’t be speaking to him anymore in the villa. Later on he tried apologising to me but like 10 minutes after he started with the snide comments again. I’ve tried to avoid this guy multiple times but he always ends up starting again. I don’t know when it will stop.”
In an interview after he was dumped, Remi said he straight up “hates” Jacques and he ruined his villa experience. Remi said they had multiple rows in the villa, he claimed Jacques would imitate his accent all the time, and he would often use his rugby persona as an excuse to wind people up. He accused him of playing up to the cameras and “trying to cause commotion”.
The Tab has reached out to reps for Jacques O’Neill for comment regarding the recent allegations.
