Peter Thomas slams ex-wife Cynthia Bailey from jail after helping build $17 million fortune
'If I never see her again it’d be too soon'
Peter Thomas might be behind bars, but he’s definitely not staying quiet.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta husband just used a prison phone call to vent about his ex-wife, Cynthia Bailey, and the gloves are off.
In a new appearance, Peter claims Cynthia hasn’t checked on him at all since he reported to federal prison and hints that their history is way more financially intertwined than fans ever knew.
Now Bravo watchers are debating loyalty, divorce etiquette and whether Cynthia really owes her ex anything at this point. Let’s unpack what he actually said…
Peter speaks out from jail

First, let’s cover the basic. Peter is serving an 18-month federal sentence after pleading guilty to failing to pay more than $2.5 million in employment taxes for his Bar One and nightclub businesses, according to People.
He reported to a federal facility in Miami in 2025 and also faces two years of supervised release plus millions in restitution once he’s out.
From inside, he’s been very present on the outside, posting messages through his team and phoning into podcasts.
In recent audio shared online, including a prison call promoted by blogger Michelle “ATLien” Brown, Peter tells listeners that Cynthia hasn’t called, emailed, written, or visited him since he went in.
He doesn’t just say he’s disappointed… he flat-out says his ex-wife “ain’t sh*” for not supporting him and even adds that if he never sees her again, “it’d be too soon.”
It’s safe to say this is a harsh shift from the friendlier tone they showed in the years right after their 2017 divorce.
Why he’s slamming RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey

So where does the “$17 million” come in? In the same conversation, Peter claims he helped Cynthia build what he calls a $17 million empire, suggesting that his Bar One storyline, hustle, and connections supercharged her earning power while she was a full-time peach-holder.
Here’s the reality check. Estimates put Cynthia’s net worth at around $2–2.5 million, not $17 million via Celebrity Net Worth.
She’s earned that through decades of modelling, more than a decade on RHOA, and businesses like The Bailey Agency School of Fashion, plus her eyewear, handbag and wine ventures.
Emotionally, Peter frames himself as the loyal ex who rode for Cynthia and is shocked she isn’t riding for him now. At the same time, Cynthia has said her life, especially her finances, actually improved after divorcing Peter, hinting that his money issues weighed her down.
As of now, she hasn’t publicly responded to this latest prison-podcast dragging and seems focused on work and sliding back into the RHOA mix in a “friend of” role.
She did take to Instagram to share some festive snaps on December 21 and wrote in the post’s caption: “Sometimes you need to be still & block out the background noise. Enjoying this quiet time of reflection, gratitude, love & peace. Happy Holidays to all!”
