World’s first AI generated reality show created where contestants have ‘no idea they’re not real’
They have to fight to the death
The world’s first ‘100 per cent AI generated’ reality show called Non Player Combat released this week, and it’s truly one of the most cursed things I’ve ever seen.
The show was created by Tom Paton, who owns production company AiMation Studios and features six AI contestants who have “no idea they’re not real.”
The contestants compete against each other on a remote island to win 500,000 coins, with players receiving weapons to help them kill dangerous animals before they ultimately start to turn on their fellow contestants, until only one is left.
In a press release about Non Player Combat, Tom explained why his AI reality show is “more genuine” than real ones.
“Non Player Combat contestants aren’t performing for the camera, so in many ways they feel more genuine than your average human reality TV contestant. The future lies where the characters from the shows and films we watch are living their stories in real time.”
The six contestants we get introduced to in the first episode are: former navy seal Travis Drake, wilderness coach Micah Grey, influencer Madison Cross, special forces trainer Kai Chen, former army veteran Ed Harrington, and ex-con Eliza Cole.

Tom also revealed that his studio doesn’t plan the outcome of each encounter, instead leaving it to the AI to “call the shots.”
He told Forbes: ““Every player has hundreds of pages of backstory. Childhood, trauma, love, crimes, philosophy. Their behavior emerges from that foundation.
“The AI takes those inputs and becomes the character. We did not pick the winner. We did not pick who died and when. We created the psychology, not the plot.”
The show’s creator has also defended backlash from the show, saying: “Do you actually care that it’s AI if you’re entertained? I doubt it”
