Selling The OC’s Alex Hall and Gio Helou are facing backlash for their links to the MAGA movement. For starters, Alex compared this generation’s Martin Luther King to the late Charlie Kirk, while Gio is following several Donald Trump support accounts on socials.

Alex claimed he was the “Martin Luther King of our generation.” She made the post back in September following the death of Charlie Kirk, saying that she was “undeniably emotional” about what happened to the right-wing activist.
Charlie was fatally injured after being shot whilst speaking on an Utah university campus on September 10. Alex wrote: “I cannot explain how undeniably emotional I am about this. I have never been so moved by anyone’s death whom I have never met. What a courageous man.
“What an honour to have walked this earth at the same time as someone so inspirational as you. I admire you. I admire your strength. I admire the legacy you have left behind,” Hall added, saying she “blames us” for “history repeating itself.”
She called out an account which slammed the Selling The OC and Sunset cast who have openly spoken about right-wing politics and wrote: “As a Jewish woman and a granddaughter of a Jewish woman who survived the Holocaust, I cannot put the offence from this into words.”
Gio follows several Trump accounts

Gio publicly follows three accounts linked to President Donald Trump, including his main account, the POTUS page, and his son, Donald Trump Jr. He’s also recently revealed that he plans to raise his children without allowing them to choose their gender.
He disagreed that masculinity is “toxic” and said they “won’t be falling for” ideas such as all religions being equal, someone being able to choose their gender, that kids “don’t belong in business class,” and so on, which received a ton of backlash from his followers.
