You’ll never guess what super creative career Alex Hall had before Selling The OC
She's been grafting for years
If you only met Alex Hall in that chaotic glass box of an office on Selling The OC, you probably think of her as the queen of shady one-liners and eight-figure listings.
But long before she was closing deals for the Oppenheim Group, Alex was obsessed with what happened inside the houses rather than the price tags on the outside.
Alex did not start out in real estate at all. She actually came from a similar-ish background, then slowly pivoted into property and eventually reality TV.
It looks like she went from picking tiles and paint swatches to selling jaw-dropping OC mansions on camera…
Alex’s career before Selling The OC

Alex is a born-and-raised Orange County girl who built her early career around aesthetics and space rather than square-foot comps.
Before she ever picked up a lockbox, she worked in interior design.
ScreenRant notes that she even has a degree that feeds into that design background, which means her training was not just vibes and Pinterest boards but actual study in how rooms function and feel.
That foundation translated into real, bill-paying work. Alex started out with an interior design career, putting together schemes for clients and learning how to make spaces look expensive, warm and totally move-in ready, per Marie Claire.
At some point, though, she realised she could do more than just style the homes. With clients constantly talking budgets, renovations and resale value, a move into real estate was almost inevitable.
According to Hey Alma, who dug into her LinkedIn, she has been a licensed agent since around 2013 and has worked for high-end outfits like Christie’s International Real Estate and Sotheby’s before landing at the Oppenheim Group.
That mix of design training and years on the ground selling property is why Netflix describes her as one of Orange County’s top-ranking realtors who brings a serious interior design edge to every listing. She is not just talking about staging in confessionals, she has actually built a whole career on it.
She now has a huge net worth

All of that graft has paid off in a pretty major way.
Multiple outlets rank Alex as one of the wealthiest agents in the OC office, with StyleCaster putting her net worth at around $1.5 million dollars.
Some more recent lists go even higher, suggesting she could be sitting closer to $7 million, while others are more conservative and estimate her wealth in the low seven figures.
Either way, the consensus is that Alex is firmly in millionaire territory, and a lot of that did not come from Netflix paychecks alone. Her portfolio is built on years of selling OC luxury real estate, including being attached to a headline-grabbing 100 million dollar listing, plus the premium she can charge thanks to that interior design expertise. Meaww.
