When you live your life in front of the camera, decisions, especially about appearance, come with an audience. And a critical one at that!
Some reality TV stars are literally loving life after opting in for nips and tucks. Just take one glance at Kris Jenner and her facelift results! But, others have looked back on their cosmetic ‘upgrades’ and said on reflection that perhaps it wasn’t their finest hour. Here are some of the most candid confessions.
Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki, the OG of The Real Housewives of Orange County, once shared that she very much regretted getting work done, specifically a nose job and chin augmentation, just two weeks before filming season eight.
Why the regret? The timing. She expected a long lead time to heal, but cameras showed up early, and she was swollen. She later said that having to appear so soon after surgery was totally embarrassing and something that will be there on tape for years.
Jennifer Aydin
From Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jennifer Aydin also opened up about her regrets, regretting not just one but two major changes. She said she wasn’t happy with her rhinoplasty (nose job) and chin implant.
She admitted the nose has “since settled in nicely,” but still, she doesn’t wish she had gone through one of the surgeries in the first place. She’s “officially done with surgeries,” apparently.
Sonja Morgan
Sonja, from The Real Housewives of New York City, has also expressed regret over some of her past cosmetic decisions, specifically liposuction.
She said that where she “went too far” was with liposuction, and questioned whether it was even necessary anymore. She joked about it: “Why bother?” People, she feels, are now more embracing of natural curves, and in retrospect, some procedures feel excessive.
Adrienne Bailon
Rob Kardashian‘s ex, Adrienne Bailon, who’s been on TV shows like The Real, also regrets her surgery, specifically her choice to get breast implants.
She said on The Real that she got them because she wanted to “feel sexy at eighteen years old.” Adrienne said she felt insecure, then later removed them because they made her “look crazy.”
Heidi Montag
Heidi’s story is perhaps one of the most famous. On The Hills, she went through a long stretch of plastic surgery procedures, ten in one day, among others, and later admitted it got out of hand.
She has since had a breast reduction and said she would never go through that level of surgery again. She also spoke about not having understood the emotional and physical pain she would endure.
Chloe Khan
Chloe Khan spent a lot on cosmetic tweaks, nose job, fillers, veneers, boobs, BBL, all kinds. But she has said she regrets the nose job in particular.
She recalled a scary moment while on This Morning, during the surgery in Ukraine. Chloe said she woke up during surgery, described it as a “nightmare,” and added that the experience put her off getting more surgeries.
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne has been abundantly open about regretting her 2021 facelift. She called it “the worst thing I ever did.”
She said after that facelift, she looked like a “Cyclops,” had one eye higher than the other, her mouth was apparently “skewwhiff,” and she was pretty horrified by how things turned out.
The procedure lasted about five and a half hours, was excruciatingly painful, she said it “hurt like hell”, and left her feeling she really “pushed it” too far.
Since then, she’s made it clear she’s done with major cosmetic surgeries. She’s said “no more” facelifts for her.
Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian has also admitted to regretting at least one surgery. Back in 2011, she said she had her boobs done, but that she wished she hadn’t. Her words: “I had my boobs done, but if I could go back, I wouldn’t have done it. I was so cute before.”
She’s spoken more generally about being pressured by beauty standards, and how looking back, she sees things she’d do differently, not surprising in a family where physical appearance gets dissected daily.
