Exclusive: Drag Race’s Siam Phusri reveals what she REALLY thinks of RuPaul
She described filming the show as 'intense'
Exclusive: Drag Race: Slaysian Royale star Siam Phusri sat down with Reality Shrine to talk all things RuPaul, filming the recent season, and what happened during *that* meltdown. She explained that she’s manifesting one day meeting the “God of the gay community.”
It’s been a super busy time for Siam. She’s currently starring on Slaysian Royale but is one day hoping she’ll feature on All Stars. She told us: “I’d love to see myself growing more and more. Drag Race is a really good school to me. I feel like I’m so honoured to be on the show.”
She also said of RuPaul: “He’s like the light of the people who have dreams. He’s really impressive because he’s the leader of drag queens and really inspires me a lot. When I’m down and need more confidence, I like to listen his voice. He’s the God of the gay community.”
As for the meltdown people saw her having on Slaysian Royale, Siam told us that she kept saying “new me” during her speech because she “wants to become the better version of herself,” adding that filming the series was “very intense.”
She said: “Now, I’ve found a job that I love. It’s easy to do drag but it’s hard to survive with life and take care of my family, too. I can be fully, truly myself, but I have to find a way to be a drag queen and take care of the people that I love, also.”
“One day, I want to be a drag queen that experiences another version of being human that I’ve never found in my life. I don’t know if I’ll be successful, but I want to try something different in drag. It’s my next project – to make my drag a twin persona,” Siam added.
Siam explained she plans to have another version of a drag queen, such as someone that’s more “witchy and spiritual” rather than just the female version of her. “This journey isn’t finished yet. Even if I don’t get a crown on Slaysian Royale, I’ve won by taking part,” she said.
