Ok, we’ve all seen *that* Dunkin ad but did Jen and Ben Affleck actually meet IRL?!
Jen just dished on what filming was really like
Ok, we’ve all seen that Dunkin’ ad making the rounds on X, the one that had fans double-tapping, side-eyeing, and wondering if the world of reality TV had just collided with coffee commercials. But here’s the real tea: did Jen Affleck from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Dunkin’ poster boy Ben Affleck actually meet in real life, or is this just one of those internet fever dreams? Spoiler: the story is spicier than your average pumpkin latte.
Jen once said she and Ben were related
Anyone who watched The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will likely remember the days when Jen said she was kinda related to megastar Ben Affleck. Via her husband, Zac Affleck, she said that the two were cousins. But, dishing the real tea on Not Skinny But Not Fat this fall, Jen clarified there’s actually no relation.
The podcast host, Amanda Hirsch, asked: “Zac said it’s not true?” and Jen replied: “Yes,” and added how she was “mad” at her husband for revealing the truth. Jen added: “It genuinely was told to him and all of his siblings by his grandpa, like that was a real thing, everyone believed it…”
The Hulu star continued: “It was mentioned as a joke… because they never actually, they never met him. Technically, they don’t really know, but it was mentioned to him, it was a lighthearted thing.”
What filming the Dunkin’ ad was really like
Naturally, everyone’s been wondering whether Ben Affleck has anything to say about people suggesting they’re his family members. And, more are keen to find out if he and Jen actually met when they both appeared in the latest Dunkin’ ad.
Amanda asked: “Did Ben Affleck ever comment on this?” Then, Jen spilt the major tea that she caught up with him. “I’ve talked to him,” she explained.
When the two were cast for a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial, she said they met in real life. But, before that, they hadn’t actually crossed paths. Off the back of being a “pathological liar,” Jen landed herself in the commercial. She said how she and Ben “laughed about it,” and that his daughter came to the ad’s filming as she loves The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. According to Jen, Ben’s daughter said: “I don’t care if we’re not related, we are related.”
Ben thanked Jen for doing the ad, as well, so it turns out she’s gained family members and fans from the whole thing. Amanda joked: “That’s what you call laughing all the way to the bank.”
