Controversial Love Island USA star refuses to ‘stay silent’ over Charlie Kirk shooting
A TikTok she reshared 'honours his legacy'
Love Island USA alum Vanna Einerson has found herself in hot water after speaking out following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The 31-year-old political commentator was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
Tributes have poured in from supporters, like Savannah Chrisley, and Vanna also isn’t shying away from sharing her own thoughts. Through resharing someone else’s TikTok video, the reality star insinuated she “can’t stay silent” over the tragedy, sparking debate online.
Love Island USA star reshares Charlie Kirk TikTok
Love Island USA season seven’s Vanna has sparked criticism online after reposting a TikTok video mourning the death of Charlie Kirk.
Vanna shared a slideshow that remembered Charlie and highlighted his “legacy.” The original post included black-and-white photos of the activist, describing him as someone who “walked with honour, spoke with conviction, and stayed true to what he believed.”
The TikTok contained the words: “This is something I can’t help but share, because the weight of this loss is too heavy to stay silent…” The original poster also wrote: “He walked with honor, spoke with conviction, and stayed true to what he believed… His legacy in not only his words, but in the integrity he carried every day. A life remembered with deep respect.”
Vanna, who boasts more than 262,000 Instagram followers and close to 900,000 on TikTok, reshared the tribute with the caption: “We don’t have to agree politically, but we can at least have morals,” per Daily Mail.
Vanna was one of Love Island’s ‘controversial’ stars
Although Vanna wasn’t on Love Island USA season seven for that long, she certainly made her mark while in the villa. Her OnlyFans activity and speculation over surgery she might’ve had done meant that a lot of rumours swirled about her.
Speaking on the Viall Files podcast post-show, Vanna said people speculating actually created some “insecurities” for her. She explained: “All the things that these people were pointing out to me, I never saw in myself… They were pointing out new insecurities.”
Now, Vanna has people talking again. This time for her political stance. She isn’t the first influencer or reality TV star people are calling out online. Following Charlie’s fatal shooting, RHOC alum, Kelly Dodd, was called out by critics for comparing the media coverage of his death with George Floyd’s 2020 murder. Kelly took to social media to defend herself against people alleging that her comments were “racist.”
