Katie Maloney issues apology after saying ‘we don’t mourn monsters’ following Charlie Kirk’s death
A lot of people are furious with her
Katie Maloney just issued an apology after her initial social media posts received a ton of backlash following the death of Charlie Kirk. Katie took to Instagram to share her stance following the political activist’s death. But, since she first shared her thoughts, she’s gone on to issue a lengthy statement. Clarifying her opinion, Katie wrote that she is “…grieving for his wife and children” after initially resharing the words: “…we don’t mourn monsters.”
More reality TV stars, including Real Housewives and Khloé Kardashian, have broken their silence following Charlie Kirk’s murder. Katie is not alone when it comes to famous people who’ve received negativity for their views and posts during this time.

Following Charlie Kirk’s death on September 10, Katie took to Instagram to share memes reading: “We do not celebrate death. But, we also do not mourn monsters. Those two things can and do coexist. The absence of mourning does not imply the presence of celebration.”
Another post shared by the Vanderpump Rules alum was an everytown.org infographic that read: “There have been at least 100 shootings at schools in 2025.”

A day later, Katie then took to her Stories again to clear up that she was not “celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death.” She explained in a lengthy post that she didn’t believe he deserved to be assassinated. Katie wrote: “We should settle our differences with discussion, not with violence… I take no joy in Charlie’s death… I am sorry if anyone feels hurt by what I said…”
The Bravo star concluded that “gun violence is an American tragedy… so is our inability to disagree with civility. Going forward, I hope to be part of the solution to both problems.”
