The Real Housewives of London’s Amanda Cronin shares real reason she started taking Ozempic
Juliet Angus spilled a huge secret
When Juliet Angus came onto The Real Housewives of London scene, she called Amanda Cronin out for using Ozempic. Amanda then revealed that she’s lost several pounds thanks to the weight loss injections, which helps her to maintain her size zero figure.
After Amanda asked Juliet how her drinking is going, she responded: “How’s your skinny pen and all the Ozempic you’ve shot in your body for the last five years going?” Amanda, who looked a little shell-shocked, told her, “Pretty good, I’ve lost eight kilos.”
She turned to the weight loss jab last year to shed over 20lbs that she gained during the menopause. Amanda told Mail Online: “I lost weight on Ozempic last year – 10 kilos on a microdose of 0.25 in six weeks. I have managed to keep it off and just microdose.”
Amanda has explained how she microdoses for “a few weeks a year if the weight starts to creep up” and revealed: “I decided to lose weight as my dress size crept up from six to eight to ten in two years. I was a double zero all my life – now I’m a size zero in couture.”
She’s even said she “highly recommends” Ozempic, which is usually only prescribed to people who have a Body Mass Index of 35 or more and have additional psychological or other medical conditions that are related to obesity, which Amanda didn’t fit into.
Amanda said a doctor friend prescribed it to her and revealed to the Mail Online: “There were no side effects at all from microdosing, and it helped me give up using alcohol socially as it doesn’t mix well and can make you feel tired or nauseous.”
“After six weeks of not drinking at all, I decided to keep going. Even without the Ozempic, now my insulin resistance is rebalanced. I no longer gain weight, bloat, or retain water as before. My annual medical blood test results were so improved, I cried,” she said.
Along with microdosing, Amanda helps maintain her weight by walking 20,000 steps a day, doing pilates and swimming three times a week, and sticking to a clean diet. She said: “I enjoy food but have a small appetite. I enjoy seafood, fish and salads.”
There have been some reported side effects of using Ozempic, including gastrointestinal issues like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea, constipation, stomach pain, headache, excessive burping, heartburn, fatigue and flatulence, and it can have more serious adverse effects.
