Love Is Blind’s Nicole shares shocking diagnosis she’d never have known without the show
She had 'no idea' about her condition before filming
Nicole has revealed she’s been diagnosed with ADHD after filming Love Is Blind UK season one, but it’s something she never knew she had until she watched the show back. She was torn between choosing Sam and Benaiah, but went for the latter and married him.
She had no idea about her condition while filming and revealed: “Watching it back was like holding up a mirror. I could see everything I’d missed: the emotional ups and downs, impulsive decisions, constant burnout,” adding that telling Beniah was “difficult”.
Nicole continued: “I was terrified he’d see me differently, or think I was too much. I genuinely felt unlovable. But he met me with compassion, which helped me feel less alone. Choosing a holistic route to manage my ADHD feels right for me.”
“It takes effort, trial and error, and self-compassion. Finding Get Dopa [a platform focusing on neurodivergence, mental health, and wellbeing] felt like a natural fit because they understand the day-to-day reality of being neurodivergent,” the Netflix star added.
Nicole said: “Like me and many others, she’s found that discovering and embracing neurodivergence can change everything for relationships and wellbeing.” But if it wasn’t for the show, she may never have realised she may have ADHD.
She’s admitted that she’s “definitely a huge work in progress, but tries to live with intention and stay connected to what really matters.” Benaiah also said how the pods stage was “really intense” and therefore he “can’t imagine what it was like for her.”
Nicole initially said yes to Sam and no to Benaiah’s initial proposal, and went on holiday with him. However, it wasn’t long before she realised she’d made a huge mistake and decided to go and meet Benaiah in person – who she’s still married to today!
