A full rundown of the insane drama going on between Clayton and Rachel after Perfect Match
Working out is a 'non-negotiable' for him in a partner
Somehow, even though Clayton Echard fully dumped Rachel Recchia on The Bachelor, she couldn’t help but go back for more – but this time on Perfect Match. And when it turned out he had to end things with her yet again on national TV, it only led to drama after filming.
Rachel spilled the reason Clayton dumped her
Rachel claims that Clayton broke up with her because she’s “not a gym girly”. She said on the What’s The Reality podcast, “I called that man so many times yesterday, and I have an answer. I wake up in the morning and my inbox is flooded with my friends.”
They told her that “he’s alluding to the fact that he needs to come to us with some issue about you.” Rachel then added how he called her and said, “So, the reason why Clayton feels we are incompatible and that he was so sure [of] is because I am not a gym girlie.”
“He wants someone who lives a very active lifestyle and goes to the gym and hits the weights — and [that’s] not me. It’s never going to be me. I like to travel and to shop, and sit at the bar. You know, I go on a hot girl walk,” Rachel added, claiming she does work out.
She continued: “He wants to clarify, though, and I will give him this. It’s not that he thinks I have a bad body, it’s that my lifestyle of not liking to hike or go to the gym is not compatible with him. He thought, if he said that, the public would take it as an attack on my body.”
Clayton ‘found issues’ over their compatibility
Clayton claimed that he broke up with Rachel because he found problems about their compatibility. Clayton refused to tell podcast host Nick Viall what allegedly bothered him, saying he wanted to tell one of Rachel’s friends directly so they could pass the message on.
This is coming from the man who said he had “unresolved feelings” for Rachel, only to change his mind 24 hours later. And while they both met back in 2022, and things didn’t go as they’d originally planned, he told People he wants someone with a “growth mindset.”
Clayton said he’d like someone who he “can grow with, that they can support my dreams and I can support theirs equally.” He added, “I don’t want to be normal. I want to be abnormal in the best possible way, and I’m looking for someone that matches that energy.”
He said they ‘need to quit making messes’
Clayton revealed how he and Rachel have spoken on the phone twice in the last week, and acknowledge they have different lifestyles. He said, “I don’t need to share every hobby with a partner, but I’ve found weight-lifting is a non-negotiable for me in a relationship.”
“We both agree that we have different lifestyles and that’s perfectly okay. We respect that about one another and just want the other to be happy. We also both agree we make a mess on reality TV together and need to quit doing that,” Clayton added.
