Kourtney Kardashian responds to backlash after taking her toddler on boat without life vest
She broke Idaho state law by doing so
Kourtney Kardashian has come under serious backlash for her “dangerous” parenting after she posted a picture of her 21 month old son Rocky in a boat.
However, the point of criticism came as she hadn’t put a life vest on her toddler, despite Idaho state law requiring her to do so.
The law states: “All children under the age of 14 must wear an approved life jacket when they are aboard a boat 19 feet in length or less whenever the boat is underway or under power.”
Kourtney Kardashian posted the picture from the family holiday to her Instagram, but was met with strong backlash from concerned followers.
One follower commented: “POV Please use a life vest on your child. In that huge boat accident in Tahoe, the only two people that survived were wearing life vests. All the rest died when the boat capsized.”
Another added: “What no life vests? Isn’t that against the law?”
Kourtney soon responded to the concerns, admitting that she “didn’t think of the dangers” that not giving Rocky a life jacket could result in.
She replied: “Good looking out. Honestly, didn’t think about some of the dangers. Thank you for making me aware and hopefully this helps make other mommies aware of the dangers of certain types of boating without a life vest.”
Kourtney later confirmed that she’d bought a $69.99 life jacket for Rocky, adding: “Update: bought a life vest that fits!”
