Drag Race star reveals ‘best thing they’ve ever done’ – and it’s not being on RuPaul’s show
I did not expect this at all
Bimini is starring on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which forces them to do everything from swimming underwater to fight her fellow contestants. They appeared on the world’s top drag queen show, RuPaul’s Drag Race, but this show is the “best thing they’ve done”.
They are one of just 10 remaining contestants on this year’s gruelling series, and made it to the halfway point. Bimini was feeling lost and at a crossroads in their life when they decided to do the show, as there was a “lot of outside noise over the years since I was on Drag Race.”
Bimini said of their SAS experience: “I think it was better than I expected. I learned a lot about myself. I reminded myself that I’m strong minded. I reminded myself of a lot of things I lost over the years. It’s made me remember that your mind is like a tool you can use.”
“I would sum it up by saying it was outrageous. It was outrageous. It was wild. But it was the best thing I’ve ever done,” Bimini added of the show, and wanted “to prove to myself what I can do mentally in my own body or my own head.”
They only went for a few runs to prepare, but went for it anyway. “I was working so much and kind of exhausting myself. I just needed to prove to myself that I’m still a bad bitch! I needed something that was a challenge, that was going to make me remember,” they said.
Bimini continued: “I think over the years, I’ve let people kind of chip away, tell me what to do, and I feel like this was kind of me being like, no, I want to take myself out in the world, throw myself into something that I wouldn’t ever get to do and just go for it, I guess.
