Tammy Slaton’s surgeon issues stark warning following her dramatic skin removal surgery
She looks unrecognisable
Tammy Slaton from 1,000lb Sisters fame has had one of the most dramatic transformations on the show and she recently underwent a drastic skin removal surgery.
As a result she looks almost unrecognisable, however her surgeon has issued a stark warning for those who might be looking into undergoing bariatric surgery.
Dr Eric Smith outlined the dangers of the procedure, as well as what people should expect to get out of the surgery.

He explained: “I’ve seen thousands of people over the years have skin removal and plastic surgery after their weight loss journey.
“It’s an extremely exciting time for people, because it’s almost like that final stamp on their journey of like, ‘I’ve put in all this hard work, this loose skin has been created by the hard work that I’ve done, and now it’s my final surgical mark, so to speak, on my journey’.”
He continued, emphasising how important it is to properly look after your body both before and after undergoing such a drastic procedure.
He said: “Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition. We as bariatric surgeons preach the importance of vitamin replacement, supplementation and optimising your nutrition. Healing is optimal only when you optimise your nutrition.
“Plastic Surgeons are going to give you incisions from one hip bone to the other. The larger the incision, the higher the risk of wounds coming apart, de hissing, getting infected.
“And what you can do to prevent that is make sure that your nutrition is optimised. You have to eat good, whole, healthy foods in order to heal well.”

Lastly, Eric touched upon some of the reasons why people perhaps shouldn’t get the surgery, saying that it “won’t fix your perception of who you feel you are.”
This is something that Tammy Slaton struggled with, as he commented: “If you think that plastic surgery will fix your perception of who you feel you are, you’re probably going to be sorely disappointed after plastic surgery.
“Your plastic surgeon should want to take the time to set expectations for you, and if you hear yourself saying, ‘once I have this surgery, I’ll be happy’, stop.
” Just take a deep breath and realise there’s probably some things from a mental health standpoint you need to work on to realise plastic surgery should be icing on the cake, but it shouldn’t be seen as a fix of your self value and your self worth.”
