‘A disgrace’: Grieving son slams The Traitors for delaying his mother’s funeral due to filming
The local church is being used for filming in the upcoming season
A grieving son slammed The Traitors as a “disgrace” after he was told there would be a delay to his mother’s funeral due to Ardoss Ark being used for filming the new season.
The man took to social media after he was told that he would have to wait in order to hold the funeral, to allow for filming to be finished.
He wrote: “My mother has lived in Ardross for 72 years. For my mother to be denied the right to have her final farewell to Ardross in her local church is nothing less than a disgrace.”

However, following his public statement, the man contacted The Traitors production boss, who agreed that filming could be temporarily suspended to allow the funeral to go ahead.
The volunteers who help run the church also released their own statement about the situation, explaining: “To [secure the building for future generations], we have had to enter into formal lease agreements.
“These partnerships are critical to secure funding for essential repairs, which are necessary to keep the building open and usable.
“When we received the funeral request on Friday morning (13th June), one of our trustees immediately arranged an urgent meeting with the leaseholders’ representative.”

They continued: “By Tuesday late afternoon (17th June), we received confirmation that the earliest possible tentative date for access would be 1st July.
“Unfortunately, due to a densely scheduled internal programme, earlier availability simply wasn’t feasible despite their willingness to support the request.
“This is not due to a lack of compassion, but due to firm contractual obligations that govern the use of the space.
“We understand that grief can give way to frustration — especially when tied to a place filled with memories.”
Just 30 minutes after Ardoss Ark’s statement, the original man who voiced his frustration at The Traitors filming schedule, gave a positive update.
He said: “As a family we managed to make contact with the production manager from the Traitors, they have been very understanding and accommodating, they are going to allow us to hold a funeral service in Ardross Church next Friday the 27th! I would like to thank them for there understanding and allowing us to use the church. Thanks again to all concerned.”
