Love Is Blind’s Amber detailed ‘terrifying’ incident
Five years on from Love Is Blind season one, Amber and Matt Barnett are embracing a whole new phase of life.
The two became parents this year, welcoming a daughter, “Baby Barnett,” in April.
Amber has taken to the ‘gram to share all kinds of adorable updates related to motherhood, but this summer, she opened up about a “terrifying moment” in an Instagram post.
The Netflix alum wrote of how she planned to see a friend who lived two and a half hours away, and that it would have been the first “long drive” she’d made with Baby B:
“…I was terrified to do [the trip] on top of absolutely LOATHING the idea of having her in Atlanta traffic, but I make the drive all the time, so I convinced myself I could handle it.
“Half an hour into the drive, after making it through the worst of Atl’s traffic, it starts pouring down rain and I realize I never checked the weather… Rookie move.
“I was legitimately on the verge of a heart racing, chest tightening, shallow breathing— panic attack.”
Amber added how “thirty minutes into her drive,” she “had to turn around a head back home.”
“I didn’t feel safe driving with my baby in the car anymore,” she explained.
“I haven’t been so scared since I was 15 and almost set my sister’s car into a spin when she was trying to teach me to drive. The fact that it was totally irrational didn’t make it any less of a real problem.”
Amber explained she dealt with ‘depression’

While explaining how she endured a seriously scary moment with her young baby in the car, Amber also opened up about how she dealt with “depression and anxiety” in the past.
She said in her IG post about experiencing “newfound driving anxiety”:
“On today’s edition of Unaesthetic Mom Things : Mom Anxiety…”
“So I was already diagnosed with anxiety and depression when I was 19 but since having a baby it has reached “A WHOLE NUTHA LEVOL”!”
Thankfully, Amber and her daughter are OK.
The Love Is Blind alum concluded: “….So, that was a fun lil revelation— when someone tells you being a mama is terrifying, take heed, they may mean that in a very real, very physical way.”
