‘It was so dark’: Ashley breaks silence on emotional divorce from Tyler after Love Is Blind
'I even go back and forth on my head if he ever loved me'
Ashley has opened up about her divorce from Tyler after the pair tied the knot on Love Is Blind for the the first time since their split.
She appeared on AD’s What’s the Reality? podcast, where she spoke out about her experiences in the relationship following the show.
She explained: “I’ve been healing, I’m getting to the stage where I’m reaching the six month of the divorce, and trying to take back the power of it.
“Anyone who knows me knows this is not something I ever wanted to do ever. And so, I’m changing it from a negative connotation to feeling more liberated and excited.”
She admitted that she was “terrified of being torn apart after things have calmed down.”

Ashley added: “I had to make sure I was doing that for me. The last four months have been a lot for me but I’ve realised that people can have misconceptions about me but I think that this is for me to speak to my character, and anything else out of that I can’t be bothered with.”
When AD asked Ashley what she missed most about being married to Tyler after Love Is Blind, she replied: “I miss being a part of this secret wives club, like my friendships, it was a little different because we were all married, we had conversations that I now can’t understand.
“Even professionally people treat you differently, so that transition has been difficult. But also I’m someone who thrives being single, I found how to be comfortable in my own skin a long time ago.”
Ashley admitted that when she looked at Tyler she felt like she could no longer recognise him after Love Is Blind, explaining: “I was looking at this man like who are you? It was so dark, it was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my actual life.”

She revealed the scandal and their divorce came as a complete shock to her, sharing : “As you know, anything that you say in the pods, and anything that you say while filming is law. It is vital that you stick to it.”
She confessed: “I even go back and forth on my head if he ever loved me. They don’t think the love is real from Love Is Blind, but it is! It was for me!”
Ashley continued, emotionally saying that she “never wanted to get divorced” and she thought her Love Is Blind marriage to Tyler would last forever.
She added: “This was someone I made vows with. My faith is important to me, we said this before God. I had to see it through. I never wanted to get divorced. Tyler has taken enough from me, he cannot take that as well.”

AD asked Ashely: “How do you feel like the revelation with Tyler impacted your marriage?”
Ashley responded: “Ugh. It impacted the marriage immediately, because now I have to question the person I’m laying next to. And I think that’s such a scary feeling to not know what’s true, what’s not true.
“I remember there would be times I’d be up at two in the morning, and he’d have all the answers at the time, but it shifted everything about us.”
She continued: “We got along really well and it was like, I no longer had that person and even from the beginning when I was trying to unpack what was true, it till created such a hole between us.
“I had resentment towards him in out household, it shifted everything. It was a time when I had two panic attacks, one of the worst ones and he just held me while trying to figure out who he actually was.”

AD asked Ashley whether she thought Tyler was ready for marriage on Love Is Blind, with Ashley responding: “Absolutely not, in no way shape or form should he have gone on the show.”
She explained how Tyler seemed completely different on the show, saying: “He presented himself as that man during filming to the point where everyone loved him. During filming he did all these things, he seemed so kind, which is why we took that leap of faith together.
“Even in our year of marriage we had a good time together, he didn’t present himself as this.”
Ashley also revealed that her divorce from Tyler will be official on May 21st at 11:59pm.

Ashley revealed the pair were divorcing at the start of the year, telling PEOPLE in a statement: “After much reflection, I want to share that Tyler and I have been separated for several weeks and have now made the difficult decision to end our marriage.
“While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage.”
She continued: “This was not a decision I made lightly, but one I know is necessary for my own growth and peace,” she added. “While this chapter is ending, I will always hold respect for the time and love we shared.
“I kindly ask for privacy during this deeply personal time as I focus on healing and building a new future. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
Tyler shared his own statement about their split on Instagram, writing: “While our journey together began with so much hope and love, we came to realize that there were challenges we could not overcome.
“I take full accountability for my role in the difficulties we faced, and I respect Ashley’s decision to move forward in a way that prioritizes her peace and happiness.”
