Abbey’s iconic song for David in Love on the Spectrum has been nominated for an Emmy!
This has genuinely made my whole day
This season of Love on the Spectrum was genuinely so iconic, with one of the standout moments being when Abbey serenaded David with her Boyfriend Song.
And it’s clear that everyone who watched Love on the Spectrum also thought Boyfriend Forever was a bop, as Abbey has been nominated for an Emmy!
As reported by Variety, the original song written by Abbey, Boyfriend Forever, has been nominated by Netflix for Emmy consideration in the outstanding original music and lyrics category.
The song was c0-written between Abbey, Casey Kelly and Garth Herberg.
Abbey has been promoting the song heavily across socials since season three of Love on the Spectrum finished, and even appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week to perform the song in front of a live audience.
Abbey is now the second cast member from Love on the Spectrum to appear on The Kelly Clarkson show, with Tanner getting the opportunity to meet Jack Black during his appearance.
Emmy submissions are all due on Thursday, 8th May with the voting window open from June 12th to June 23rd, with the official nominations set to be announced in July. Finger crossed that Abbey will be on the final list!
