Met Gala employee claims they were fired after ‘upstaging’ Kylie Jenner in shocking rant
'That’s what I was paid to do'
To get invited to the Met Gala is a pretty big deal. But to get fired from your role as a greeter at the event has got to come as a blow of all blows, especially if you’re hitting the headlines for allegedly “upstaging” Kylie Jenner. One Met Gala greeter and Italian model, Eugenio Casnighi, is apparently ready to find a new job after “photobombing” King Kylie…

Model Eugenion’s striking appearance has caught people’s attention, but the reason he’s gone viral is due to an alleged “photobombing” in Kylie Jenner’s red carpet snaps.
He was assigned to assist Kylie during the 2023 Met Gala. His duties included carrying her bag and providing support as she navigated the red carpet, per The Sun.
However, his proximity to the reality star led to him appearing in numerous photographs, capturing the attention of photographers and fans alike.
Eugenio, apparently, didn’t mean to cause such a stir. Speaking to Casino.org, he said he followed directions from Kylie herself:
“She wanted me to stay five steps away from her, so that’s how we did it… It was funny to me because a lot of people hated that I was next to her, like I was ruining her image.
“I wasn’t pretending to be her date or anything, I was literally just there, holding her bag… That’s what I was paid to do. I wasn’t looking at the camera.”
Kylie Jenner’s greeter is back at the Met Gala
Although Eugenio claimed in his TikTok video that he was fired from his Met Gala role, it seems he’s still involved in the event these days.
The greeter and model worked at the event during 2022 and 2023, and was initially asked back for 2024, before he said he was fired.
But, taking to Instagram during Met Gala 2025, he shared a video captioned: “Come with me to the pre Met Gala at the Surrey Hotel here in New York…”
He may not have been in attendance at the iconic event as he once was, but he still got a glimpse of this year’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme, and had his “life made” by seeing Zendaya.
