Love on the Spectrum siblings open up about their realities of growing up in a household with disabilities
They're being so vulnerable
Love on the Spectrum just wrapped up season three, and in this year’s episodes, we’re really getting to know more about the cast and their families. Following the series, the participants and their loved ones are opening up even more. Appearing on their mom’s podcast, Talk To Me Sis, Connor and Tanner’s siblings share their realities of growing up in a household with disabilities.
Love on the Spectrum siblings share their experiences
First things first, the Love on the Spectrum moms are sharing how “blessed” they feel by the kids they have.
They’re opening up on their joint podcast following season three, and in one episode, they get their sons to join them.
During the April 10 episode, Tanner’s younger brother, Maverick Smith, shares his experience being the youngest of his siblings.
He explained how “as a young kid, it was hard for him having a special needs sibling” because he “didn’t have certain needs met.”
Maverick added: “Whether that would be attention, emotional needs… even just quality time.”
He also said how he found it hard seeing his parents and older siblings “stressed out all the time.”
“I was never angry at mom and dad, but I felt I was the left-out one… I was just supposed to have it all together,” added Maverick.
Tanner’s brother added how he believes he now “has a lot more patience than some people his age, and is really considerate.”

People are literally obsessed with Connor’s brothers after Love on the Spectrum season three.
Jack and Ben, Connor’s younger brothers, both appear in the same TTMS episode with Maverick and their moms.
Opening up on the “hardest part” for them, Jack explained it was “seeing things from Connor’s perspective and how he totally processes things in a completely different way.”
Jack said he can now “look through his eyes and understand, this is how Connor sees it.”
“Seeing through his perspective is probably the hardest part, and still is,” he added.
Ben “piggy-backed” off his brother’s comments, and added: “There was almost a language barrier… so that was a learning curve, especially being super young and not understanding a lot of things myself.”
Now, the brothers agree they “see the world through both lenses now and we’re capable of understanding more so than we used to, where he’s coming from.”
When asked if he’d change anything about how his mom, Lise, raised him and his siblings, Ben said he wouldn’t alter a thing, and added: “She was a rockstar. I don’t think she could’ve done better.”
Speaking of Lise, he added: “It’s like superhero stuff.”
