Ben finally reveals whether he and Monica have been secretly dating following Love Is Blind
Some answers at last!
In case you missed the news, Ben and Monica started sparking serious rumours that they were secretly seeing each other following Love Is Blind, after posting a series of very cosy-looking videos together.
In the clips they posted, they were seen having drinks together, with one of the videos Ben made having the caption: “You sleep better when it’s next to someone you love” before panning to him napping next to Monica.
Especially after the whole Sara and Joey drama, it looked like Ben and Monica might have decided to get their own back after Love Is Blind, but now Ben has spoken out about their relationship status.
He appeared on the Girls Please Podcast to reveal whether they’re together, simply saying: “No.”
He continued: “As things happen, people have friendships out of these shows, and usually you want to keep the big group together as much as possible, but people tend to kind of gravitate to other people, and so I’d like to say Monica is probably one of my closest friends from the cast.”
When the hosts asked whether he and Monica were intentionally making it look like they’re together to troll viewers, he responded: “We’re not intentionally trolling, just having fun making content together and just letting the world take it as they want.”
Ben explained that there was an unseen “love square” situation during the pod stage of Love Is Blind, and revealed that Monica broke up with him to pursue things with Joey.
He clarified that he’s currently single at the moment, but added that he would be interested in seeing whether they could turn their friendship into more of a romantic one.
He explained: “Monica has been such a great friend through this whole thing, and obviously there is chemistry there with her and I…”
Ben continued: “I’m not ruling anything out. It’s something where I know she’s a great person. But obviously, we have just grown this friendship so solidly I don’t know if I see it going anywhere further, at least in the near future.
“It’s one of those things where it would have to run its course for a while before it would come back being romantically, but for right now we’re just enjoying each other’s company.”
