Jennifer Tilly shares her personal life
Sitting down for a chat with Sherri Shepherd this February, Jennifer Tilly lifts the lid on her personal choices in life.
She’s always one to make a joke and clearly has a great sense of humour. But, talk turns to a more serious topic when Sherri asks if Jennifer ever planned on having kids.
The talk show host asks Jennifer if she “made the choice to be childless.” The RHOBH star explains how she “never ever wanted kids,” adding: “I had, sort of, not a really great childhood…”
Jennifer continues: “I felt like ‘Well, maybe I’ll make the same mistakes my mother did,’ because I could see myself making those mistakes and sometimes I make bad choices in men, I didn’t want to put my kids through that.”
Jennifer recalls a vivid baby dream
Reflecting on he decision not to have children, Jennifer casts her mind back to a former relationship and a very wild dream she once had.
“There was one person I was dating, he wanted kids and I thought ‘Oh I could never let this person be the father to my child,’ but there is such a thing as a biological clock… I always had it for my career like ‘Oh I’m not getting famous fast enough’…”
She explains how, at 37, she would have dreams of “running through darkened rooms crawling with babies” that were “grabbing hold of her saying ‘Mommy, Mommy, we want to be born’,”
Jennifer jokes: “I was slapping them down, I was like out of my way, I’m late for the Oscars.”
She laughs, adding: “No! Get out of here,” before saying her “contribution to the world is Chucky movies… I think that’s a very important contribution.”
